The tank vent is a bronze plug inserted into the tank casting--the caps are not intended to vent. Check the fuel filter for plugging and the condition of the fuel lines and primer bulb. You should be able to fill the bulb with fuel after several pushes of the primer bulb. Have the fuel lines been changed? Hope this helps!

My 06 rendezvous keeps dying when it's hot out above 70 degrees is this a o2 sensor and is their a sensor in the gas tank

It might be vapor locked..It's caused from overfilling you gas tank all the time...It's when the pressure in your gas tank becomes greater than your gas pump...The car will shut off...If this is what it is just loosen the gas cap and the car will crank immediately..While opening the gas cap it would be sucking in air.. Sometimes people put a aftermarket gas cap on there car without any ventilation..The correct way to fix is the change the charcoal filter in the line running back to the carburetor..Over the years of over filling your car..the gas has made the filter hard inside and that causes vapor lock...Alway only go to the next nickel when filling up your car at the gas station...Hope this helps

I have a 1996 mitzubichi and after 20 miles of driving it starts to stal, and pres the fuel pedal all the way down , nathing hapens. What could be tha problem?

If it runs good for 20 miles then stalls...its because something is heating up. I would check the catalytic converter. The cars old enough for it to be going bad....Its in front of the muffler. Also check to see if your cars vapor locked. Open your gas cap and if your hear it sucking in air this might be the problem as well. Just loosen the gas cap and see if it still stalls. You can drill a tiny hole in center of gas cap. It will be a quick fix. To fix it right replace the vapor filter canister! Its clogged from over filling with gas. That extra 25 cents run down the gas vapor line. Your not only filling up your tank..but the vapor line too...Round to the nearest nickel.

I put gas in my 1998 Camry, drove about one block and it stopped. It tries to start when but will not turn over. It's not the battery, energy still on in vehicle, not the starter, no clicking, not the...

Vapor lock, from my experience, is a pretty rare problem. Unless you have put too much starting fluid in through the air intake. If you have not tried to use starting fluid, you should try to spray some through the airfilter, or the air intake for the motor, while someone is trying to crank it. Do not over-saturate it, or it will cause vapor lock. (vapor lock is all fuel vapors and no air). I have a suspicion that a few squirts of this will get it to fire up. If it starts but then goes out after the starting fluid is burned up, then you may have a problem with the fuel not getting to the engine.

Poulan weed eater will start and run for approx 1 min then dies

Try this first. run it untill it quits running. Now loosen the gas cap and then retighten it. If it start, the cap is bad and is causing vapor lock. Good luck.

What is a Vapor Lock? How to fix it?

Google " vapor lock " and read the wikipedia definition. Your problem could be vapor lock but I think it is a vacuum problem. If no air can get into the gas tank then fuel can't get out. Most gas caps have a vent aspect built into the cap. Ride your bike with the cap loose. If the problem disappears you now know the source.

My ryobi will start but dies about 5 minutes later

Try running the machine with the gas cap loose. There could be pressure builiding up in the system due to the cap being too tight. There is no vent on these systems like an automobile. If the gas cap is overtightened this could be your problem as the cap is equipped with a gasket that allows the vapor to vent through the cap. Overtightening could be sealing off your vent

Difficulty starting

darn thing wouldnt start after I fueled it up. After sitting for 10 min it fires right up and runs great. When starting cold it fires right up with no prob. Someone told mevapor lock is my issue this sound right ? and if so what is vapor lock and how do I prevent it ? thx all for your support.,The vapor lock situation happened to me a few times with my 748, so it CAN happen. To test this theory, just fill your tank to 1/2 of what it normally holds, next time you fill it. Or pop the cap off right now and let it sit for 10 minutes and close it back up again. Al your doing is releasing the pressure on the system. Will this do any good? Well, had always been filling my tank too high and once I realized that popping the gas cap, would release the pressure, I never had a problem after.,,,

Intermitant stall

Never owned one but maybe your car is Vapor locked...It's when your gas tank pressure becomes greater than your fuel pump..It's caused from years of over filling your gas tank...Your car is designed to burn vapors. But gas goes down the line instead and clogs up your canister meant to filter fumes...Then it builds pressure up in the gas tank. When the pressure in your tank becomes greater than your car...It shuts off and want start back until the pressure has gone down...If this is the problem just loosen your gas cap...it releases the pressure immediately...You usually will hear a suction sound when you open your gas cap....Hope this helps...It could be the problem...maybe not...But something you might not think about or know
