The mute light stays on and there is no sound. The light also flickers when the wire is moved. This seems to have happened overnight. I have tried reinstalling drivers but I fear the wire might have been damaged by use.There is a slight rip in the sheath with the wires slightly exposed, I have only had the headset for a couple of months and I'm getting quite tired of headsets having their wires wear through very quickly despite taking care with them.

I had same issues but hadnt bothered install the driver cd that came with headset I had let XP find it.. so just installed the CD and had to upgrade to latest windows messenger, then replug ur headset in or pull out and reinsert usb and all should be fine :)

I had the same problem which I traced to a manufacturing fault. I had to break into the control box halfway along the cable (you will defintiely void warranty doing this!) The cable connection from the headphone to the control circuit was not properley terminated (some cable insulation was melted through to bare wires). You have to re-terminate this cable so you need skills cutting/stripping wires and resoldering, and if you attempt any of this don't expect to be able to complain or ask for a replacement under warranty.

Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:

1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
2. Then click on the Video Settings.
3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.

My guess it's something in the cabling of this device I think it is cheaper to buy a new headset with the same quality. I think that that best solves your problem.
