Usually it takes a little knowledge of basic electronics and some soldering skills. If you have these, then it never hurts to try to fix it yourself. Its already not working. Just make sure to work safe, unplug before working on it and close up before turning on. If you think its a power supply you might be able to see some blown capacitors, or you might get lucky and find a blown fuse inside.

Please be aware, it is not necessary that you get correct/ defect free lcd screen from ebay, another concern is that lcd screen should have same part number otherwise it wont work.
I'm Sony tech and deal this kind of things on daily basis.

hello have you used the scart block the connects to the back or on the front of the tv on left hand at the bottom there should be flap lift the and connect the coloured wires there if this don't work get back to me i'll check the manual and get answer to you good luck

Do a camera reset...it might help.

Unfortinately its likely a bad green CRT. If it stablizes over time, then no adjustment will help you. CRTs are expensive so its best to turn it on 30 minutes before you need it.

If you can fix it by yourself, there is a problem in horizontal circuit panel, you need to check that in series because the part appear visbly good but when tested by the exact tester you register busted. that should be replaced immediately. Check also the vertical panel parts of the circuit. but if hard you do the job you may consult the service center of your TV or the vendor of the TV.

Hello, inside the set there is an optical unit with 3LCD panels. Somehow the dust particles came into your set and now the dust is all over the optical unit and 3LCD panels. Only way to solve this issue is to clean the dust. Please contact your Sony dealer. Best regards, Arpi
