Ice maker freezes up and drips water

We had our Ice Maker replaced under warranty.
It was driping and leaving frozen water in the tray and ruining the other Ice Cubes in the tray.
Worked fine for about 9 months again it is dripping water into the tray.
Oh yeah, I forgot, it freezes up and the fan squels .
We have to unplug and use a fan in the freezer compartment for up to an hour to melt the ice build up.
DON'T BUY ONE OF THESE REFRIDGERATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am assuming you have the ice maker that the tray twists to release the ice. There is a new tray out with a wall to prevent the water spilling over. The part number is

Our Ice maker is not producing ice. I've tried using a hair dryer to melt possible frozen water. It worked once, but now that ice maker is back to not producing ice.

The heating element is not working to heat the base and free the ice from the tray. At this point it's probably better to just replace the ice maker. They are about 60-70$

The Ice maker does not make cubes.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

Water continues to leak from the ice maker into

It's on the back where the water supply is connected. You can swap the wires on the dual water inlet valve and disconnect the water line at the valve which goes to the ice maker. When you try the water dispenser the water will come out there. When you stop the water dispenser, if the water at the valve doesn't stop, the valve isn't closing so you'll need to replace it.

Ice maKer is not getting water but the water side works.

Your refrig water valve , has 2 coils on one valve . One is for the water dispensor , and one is for the ice maker . So even if you get water thru the dispensor , the other coil ( for the ice maker ) could be bad . The fill tube from inside the freezer to the ice maker , could be frozen solid , keeping the water from entering the ice maker . This frozen tube , would be caused be the water valve " seeping " , which means , it isn't closing completely , and drips freezing inside the tube . indicating a bad water valve . Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps , but doesn't refill with water , replace the water valve but also check this tube . If the ice maker does not dump the frozen cubes , replace the ice maker , but also check the coils under the refrig , for dust , lint , etc , needing to be cleaned off . The ice maker needs to be 5 degrees to operate , and dirty coils can keep the freezer at 6 degrees or above .

I have the exact same problem, curious if you have any answer...

If the ice melts in the ice maker I think something strange is going on with the heating element below the ice maker. It comes on only for a few seconds before the ice drops. And is used to loosen the ice. But if water continues to flow from the water control valve while the ice maker is full it has no where to go but into the freezer and refreeze. Sometimes the water control valves have trash buildup inside the valve and will not shut and allows the water to continue to flow. About the only way to solve that is replace the water control valve and place a pre-filter in the line before the water reaches the valve. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Ice maker seems to be dripping water onto ice in ice container

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

Watch it when it fills with water. The fill tube could also be stopped up with ice. The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Ice maker freezing up

The problem is in the water valve.
The water supply line going to the Ref is connected to a water valve. This valve is not shutting off completely which causes water to drip into the ice maker. This dripping will freeze and eventually completely block the fill tube in the freezer.
