Generally, the software and driver disc for the HP Officejet 6500 A printer comes with the printer package. Check the shipment box and get it to install the driver and software. If it is found to be missing contact the manufacturer or the dealer from where you have bought. The optional way of getting the driver and software installed on your computer is from the official website. Get directed to your official website and key in the printer model number for which you are searching the driver and software for. Follow the prompts and get them downloaded on your computer easily.
Hello,
You can download the driver for this printer / scanner here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3795406&
Select your operating system and in the next screen select the full feature driver to install not only the basic drivers needed to operate the device but also the scanner software and control screen.

There is an exact install process that makes wireless printers work, get the install directions and program from HP.com and follow exactly.
In essence, the printer gets installed usually VIA USB, then the wireless portion gets set up, and FINALLY each machine needs a full install run on it, seeking the network based printer.
Do not use plug and play, it only partially will work.
You need to choose compatible driver in Windows 7. First, you have to click the 'Start' button and select and 'All Programs'. Then, go to 'Accessories' and select 'System Tools' and then click 'System Information'. Then, you have to select the 'System Summary' and then review the OS Name and System type to find out which version of operating system you are running. Then, accordingly choose the network printer driver for your computer.
The scanner has a separate driver. Go to Device Manager and click "Imaging Devices." Is the scanner there? If yes, try to update driver. If it's not there, right click and select "scan for hardware changes." Plug and play should see the scanner and install it. If not, go to control panel, hardware, add device. Keep the disk in the machine, as you know it has the drivers on it. If there is a newer driver online, you can update later.
