Well thats not good, however if you can identify the Positive, usually RED, and Negative, usually BLACK. on the Fan, You can actually carefully insert the bared wire into a spare drive power connector, fans are all 12 V. You can use the YELLOW.. +12V & the alongside BLACK - 0V. This will power your fan. BE CAREFUL doing this. Once inserted use a piece of tape to secure the wires and fold them back against the Plug and secure. You may be able to buy a converter that plugs into that power connector & the fan?

do this test this will tell you if your power supply is good or bad we will do the process of elimination ok.
How do I test if the power supply is bad?
Warning This test is for those with extensive electronics training. Do not try this if you do not have extensive electronics training. Make sure there is enough load connected to the power supply before testing ( at least motherboard and one hard drive)!
atxpin.jpg
atx2.jpg
ATX power connector layout isshown above. 5VSB constantly provides 5V power to the connector through pin 9. If you have a voltmeter, while the power supply fan does not turn on, you could identify which pin is pin 9. Normally there is a clip on the connector between pin 15 and 16. If one can identify pin 14 (the only green wire goes to pin 14), this is the power-on pin. Onee can use a piece of wire to short pin 14 and 15 (or any other black wired ground pin). If you power supply has power connected to it and power switch on the power supply is on, the fan should be turning by now. Otherwise, your power supply may have problem.

920 fan command 2 pin connector from

The 3 pin fan is basically a 2 speed fan- it has a slower fan speed for aircon and a faster speed for engine cooling.

Check the wiring on the fan- there should be a common earth, probably a black wire. The other two will need power for the two different speeds. Use some spare wire and connect the earth wire to the battery earth. Then run a power wire from your bat positive and connect to one of the other wires. As the fan comes on hold tight as it can have quite a kick to it!

Test which wire is for the fast speed and the connect that fast speed wire and the earth to the two pin connector on your vehicle. Ensure that the polarity of the wiring is right- ie the fan is turning in the right direction! If not, reverse them and this will change the direction of the fan.

Hp disktop erreur 920-fan command 2 pin connector

The CPU Fan is not working. Contact Compaq or go on Ebay and see if you can find a replacement fan. If you continue using your PC without the CPU fan operating, you will burn out the CPU. I hope this helps. Good luck and have a pleasent day.

I've got a new Gigabyte Ga-M68Mt-D3 mobo paired with a cooler master 460 watt power supple. Cpu is Amd phenom II 3.2 ghz with 4 gig of DDR3 ram. I powered up the supply attached to my ATX power supply...

Most motherboards now have a 24-pin power supply connector. If you haven't already found a diagram showing the pinouts of the 20- and 24-pin power plugs, here's one borrowed from a handy site:

pgh_pa_guy_1.jpg

The two plugs are essentially the same, but the 24-pin version duplicates some voltages on the extra pins. The extra pins in the larger connector were meant to provide extra current paths for voltages that see heavy loads from newer processors and motherboard circuitry. Depending on how a motherboard is designed, it might work with a 20-pin plug connected (leaving pins 11, 12, 23 and 24 empty). But typically if the board has a 24-pin connector it needs the 24-pin power supply plug.

Most power supplies have a 20-pin plug with a separate 4-pin section that fastens to it for connection to a 24-pin mobo connector. It typically has one side designed to slide onto the end of the 20-pin plug, essentially turning it into the 24-pin version. This added plug does not have a retaining clamp on its side, so you can tell it from the the 4-pin CPU power plug. The wire colors are also different. For reference, here is the processor power plug, from the same website:

pgh_pa_guy_2.jpg
New motherboard specs call for the separate processor power connector for the same reason the extra pins were added to the power supply connector: to handle the high currents needed by increasingly faster CPUs.

When the motherboard has these connectors, you need to use them all to get everything working. Hope this helps. Thanks to smspowersupply.com for the diagrams, and thank you for using Fixya.

Hmmm.... mainly you have:
-20 or 24-pins connector, that is unique and goes directly to motherboard (powers motherboard and its components)
-4 or 8-pins connector that powers CPU
-the rest would be connectors for ROM (CD/DVD/BlueRay) and HDD devices (there are: molex and sata power conectors)

If you totaly unshure, there is manual:
