My Sanyo DVD Player will not open the disc draw. There is no disc inside, and when the eject button is pressed, the display reads 'LOCKED'. I have never used the parental locking option and can think of no reason why it should do this, other than it being about 7-8 years old. Any Ideas? Regards Dave

You may try power resetting the unit and check if it helps. To power reset, turn OFF the DVD player and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray.

Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.
NOTE: This step may not apply to all models as DISC1 is not available on all DVD players.

If this does not work and if the DVD player has DISPLAY and PREV buttons, press and hold the DISPLAY+PREV buttons for two seconds to unlock the drawer.

Hold down the play button, it will take a bit but it turns of the child lock

Hi, For some reason the disk will not play. You push the eject button over and over again, but the disk slot will not open. Here's one solution...
* 1 Turn off the DVD player. Wait a few minutes, turn the DVD player back on, and
then press the "eject" button. If this does not work, turn it off and unplug
the DVD player...while you keep pushing EJECT button plug the DVD and turn it on (your hand still on the eject..) is should come out..
* 2 ..if it does not eject , unplug the DVD player again, Remove the screws off DVD on the sides and take off the DVD casing.
* 3 Look for the DVD holder inside the DVD player. This device holds the DVD in
place while the DVD player reads the disk.
* 4 Push the stuck DVD disk toward the front of the DVD player until the DVD
ejects. Remember the DVD player is not on and some force ( gentle ! ) must be applied.
* 5 While it is open,plug it on and place a DVD disc just to see if mechanism works properly..
* 6 Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Put
another DVD in to test whether the player is finally working ..

Unplug it, and plug it back in. Hit the eject button right away. This should help if it locked up with an unreadable disc.

Turn the player OFF,
Press and hold the power button, While holding it, press the Stop button for 2 seconds or more.

Once its reset, see if it will eject.

with the unit off press and hold the stop button and the eject button.

Press and Hold EJECT Button, While UNLOCK Is Displayed :-)

Hold the open/close button on the set down until it unlocks and the tray will open in about 10secs.

To unlock, manually press and HOLD the open/close button & the stop button simultaneously, and HOLD them both down until the lock picture disappears.   The DVD will eject when you press the open/close button. 

 

To lock the DVD inside the machine, repeat the same step, and it will lock it inside.
