Your problem may be due to unsupported media - such as using Dual Layer disks, or a data type that is not recognized - such as Divx.

Unplug it, and plug it back in. Hit the eject button right away. This should help if it locked up with an unreadable disc.

check the colour system on your dvd, it should be on auto mode, likewise, on tv, it should be on auto mode, not on ntsc, or pal, bg, bk, dk system, change to auto \, also check your connection for video signal, if it is connected to right point..if the problem continues, then the board on ur dvd, needs to be changed..check out

Hold the open/close button on the set down until it unlocks and the tray will open in about 10secs.

power off for about 1 Hour, disconnect from T/V.
reset it back up, should return to factory default settings.

I see if thats the problem, the memory IC was been shocked by voltage caused by a capacitor, all I can say is to open your cd/dvd and unplug the memory IC and try to put it back, ussually its a 8 pin IC, I have a problem same as this before from a custumer but its a tv reciever.

The remote model number doesn't help directly. This remote controls several Sanyo TVs including the DP46142 and DP32242. Manuals Lib has the owner's manual (copyright 2012) here: https://www.manualslib.com/products/Sanyo-Dp46142-77711.html . Press Menu (below and to the left of the arrow keys). Select Setup (the icon that looks like a satellite dish) using the left/right arrows. Press the down arrow and go to ANT/Cable setup. Press OK (in the center of the arrow keys). Use the left/right arrow keys to make sure that the Ant In line is set to Antenna. Press OK. Go down to Auto Setup and press OK. Choose from All Channels, Analog Channels and Digital Channels and press OK again. Select Apply and press OK when the scan is finished.
