This sounds like your keyboard is malfunctioning. Since the W key has no alternative function (least of all Num Lock). You may consider replacing the keyboard.

Use Unlock Dell Bios Reset Service and they will reset your bios for $20 and they guarantee it to work. I use them a lot as I repair laptops and the bios password is unknown often.

you can use a software called Active Password changer , and you may also you Hiren's boot CD.

tap on your num lock key... and if it still wont work, try to do a system restore from the date when you remembered you're pc was not having that kind of problem. start menu >> all programs >> accessories >> system tools >> system restore.

locked how? is there a window on the screen saying this workstation has been locked?

have you tried entering your password and or restarting your laptop?

you can only change DVD region 4 times and if it was locked need to replace dvd drive

press nu lock

contact Dell technical support, they can generate a master password
