SOURCE: Dell inspiron E1705 laptop to factory settings

System restore: Click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore. Follow all prompts.

Remove printer: Click Start, Control Panel, Printers. Right-click Printer you want removed, then left-click "Delete".

If you restore the computer to a point in time BEFORE you installed the printer, you can skip doing the remove printer option I wrote above.

Those fixes can be done one-handed (with your mouse).

SOURCE: I already back up all my files now i cant restore

There are two ways to do this: with a CD or with the recovery partition. If your laptop didn't come with an OS install CD, then it has a recovery partition on the hard drive. Once you figure out which option you need to use, it's just a matter of following the directions in the on-screen prompts.

SOURCE: dell inspiron e1705 did factory restore then

Since you did factory install, Might probably that's the recovery partition you used, Try to restart computer, if does not work, turn it off, unplug ac adapter and battery then drain residual power of laptop by pressing the power button for 5 secs, then put the ac adapter and battery again. If it still doesn't work, try to run diagnostics first if it fails then you'll need to replace a part, if it passes then you'll need to do operating system re-installation manually.

it's underneath the keyboard. You'll need to have a small screwdriver handy to replace it. Here is a step by step guide with photos: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Dell+Inspiron+E1705+Motherboard+Replacement/4144

Can't turn on "wireless capability"

You may try to perform System Restore . Press and hold the Windows key and press 'R' key. This will open the run window -> Type 'rstrui' without the parenthesis, click on 'Ok' -> This will open the System Restore window. Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your computer to an earlier date, choose a date when the WIFI was working well

Is there a way to set to factory settings when I reboot with a function key?

The Dell-specific Ctrl+F11 process is supposed to completely automate the restoration process, returning the hard disk to the state it was in when Dell shipped the computer assuming you have XP.

Dell provides a factory image in ImageX format that can be restored from the Vista Recovery Environment.

Dell Inspiron E1705 monitor changes brightness

If you have your Dell driver disc have to uninstall the video adapter driver and reinstall it. Restart the laptop and observe if things still happening. No need to do an update for the video driver though on this regard. Or on the other hand try to do a System Restore. Restoring your computer profile/settings on the previous date that it was working fine. But before you gonna do that have to back-up first the important files that you have to your external hard drive or USB flash drive. Hope these things help. Thank you.

My E1705 does finish coming up or turning on.

if the computer is booting up (you see the dell logo and then the windows logo) it could just be that your ram needs to be reseated, its very easy to do but if your not comfortable doing so any computer shop would be able to do it but most likely not for free. if that doesnt do it try to reseat the hard drive and or the wireless cards, any loose components can cause it to freeze, also if you have any USB Devices hooked to the computer during bootup make sure you remove them while troubleshooting. Past that it would be either a mechanical failure in the Harddrive of the computer or possibly failing memory or motherboard. You will need to do extensive troubleshooting to determine that. If you have a waranty with Dell they will walk you through the paces if your not sure what to do next you can ask me as well.

Good luck!

Best Regards,

B.
