sure old post and 12 year old PC. (relic, we use dog years on LT) you did it wrong, the tests. here is the order (&matters)

1. main battery huge out, they short, remove it forever if you want.
2. next this PC is today 12 years old and no RTC coin cell lasts 12years, below 2.9vdc it bad , did you forget this? why?
3. rule one says the pink bunny, after 7 years get ride of COIN.!!!
4. next is AC powerpack only, and the correct one and voltage and 100watts is best on old hot running PCs did you get this wrong ? a $15 cheap fix too, having full power to run this pig.
5. Learn that old CPU and old GPU (omg both) waste huge power and heat, due to a verse Moores law effect. (google it)
6. next is Fans they must run or there is no power, BIOS runs the fans if BIOS is dead fans will be dead, means no power in the PC.!!!! or shorts.!!!!
7. The GOAL first is not windows or linux it is in fact BIOS. BIOS screens must all work even with HDD out. and sure DVD drive out.
8. we next remove optional modules from the mobo. like wifi, modem dial up; useless card, and all ram tested ram 1 by 1, we then remove SD readers or card readers from MOBO and quite frankly all models NOT CPU/GPU. see if one module is shorted. we do, that and expect that, after all things do short, when they do the VRMs regulators SHUT DOWN ending that FIRE thing.
9. there is more, if confused have a real shop fix it. they know these ropes. (electronics testing and isolating bad parts)

Ur computer is to old and can't take the new software up grade.Used the old software as already in the computer or must replaced the computer.Because now ur old computer CPU clock not meet the software codes speed to read the programimg logics codes.

plug in an external monitor and power on the lappy,,,you may have to press the fn key and the appropriate function key to switch display to external,,,should you have a diplay on the external,,,you more than likely got a bodgy screen or damaged it in transit or instal

if the same issue occurs in the BIOS your soluton is to have your LCD screnn replace or have your LCD inverte cable checked/replaced ^_^ this has nothing to do with the BIOS vodeo card drivers do not function in the BIOS to be able to do such in the BIOS screen

you can try reinstalling your video driver.you can download this from dell.

(vast) (just 2 steps in fact) but the boot drive , change out is far far far more complex. and you never not told that. you want to mess with the C: drive? now let me guess the real goal (sad I must) the OS drive windows is failing ( common) and some lil' bird told you it needs a new boot drive, and then fail to say so here. okay I will bite. 1: buy a new SSD (hdd fail and are slow) 2: buy a new OS, from MS. or get free w10. (ask how) 3: then put in new SSD, 4: run the w10 installer media (it is free) 5: load w10 to the SSD fresh 6: answer the silly 30 questions it asks. 7: and click activate. (buy it) ..

to what, no PC told no OS told windows locked you out BIOS admin, or HDD locked or power on locked out?<< all bios. or bitlocker locked out or any of its 100 clones

can;t log in now or what? what does change mean, lost it and now can not get in or means just want to change it , logged in. NO PC told and NO OS told or if bios admin or windows admin. bios or windows. both are hacking./ if lost. so google the cure.

so PC runs perfect right , just email bad. right? your browser can visit many websites ok? yes /no? if yes, good , if no, wifi is dead. fix WIFI forget email now. so can you login at life.com or not. live is both email and more even the cloud and the STORE. if only live fails ask MS to fix it. live is them, them only

push the physical cd drive try button marked EJECT the PC must be running, or use the paper clip hole trick. (if PC is dead or tray jammed) google that. clip trick the dell manuals covers this

ask at Microsoft.com forum , there? or learn that if PC had this new, it is in fact crippleware. and will nag you until you buy it or do the rent things, 360 jive. best is buy it and set it up like you went. even 2007 runs here on w10. office. the PCs most on earth new, come with free but fully crippleware. as do vast other bloatware loaded on new PC. I erase all that junk and set up my own things paid and licensed.

google dead ? first off my PC has 4 browsers. all 4 different answer. IE11 ( or OMG 1 to 10 ) Edge Chrome. Firfox v95 (click tab book marks then click manage BM, the right click any or all you see and delete. learn google like google IE11 bookmarks delete. and read, millions of hits world wide all true.

dell.com ask or google how, this is called hacking so hack away, we won;t watch, grin.
