Pover up trouble

5100 power up trouble start switch hit and one of the fallowing errors happen
1 power light turns yellow and flashes at rate of once per second
2 power light starts green then turns yellow and flashes as above described
3power light starts green then yellow and flashing then back green for a second or two then yellow again and flashing it may do this sequence 2 or 3 times before finally flashing yellow.

in all scenarios power supply & cpu fans and hard drive run when green light is on.

if i remove the 12v power conector from the mother board . then hit start fans & hard drive operate when start button is hit however no green light and
yellow light stays on steady. test the supply power voltage at mother board connector and is 12v. all conections have been reseated and a new power switch assembly has been installed with no change. all capasitors have been visualy inspected for bulging or leakage.

the green power light is on on the motherboard in all senarios

if i attempt to plug the 12v power connector into the motherboard after starting the computer without it connected to the motherboard as soon as the conector is conected the yellow light begins to flash and all fans and hard drive stop.

im having the same problem, its something to do with either
    a) motherboard
    b) power supply

whichever one it is they are tricky to fix, so looks like im going back to dell to give the indianesians more of my hard earned cash

i bet the programmed the pc's to mess up like this so they get more money, because i done nothing wrong to make this problem happen!

Sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?

Canon i470D Printer will not work. Yellow light

1. Turn off the printer ( "Power" button).

2. Hold the button "Resume", include printer (click "Power").

3. Hold the "Power" button, release the button "Resume" (power indicator / preparedness must turns green)

4. Not releasing the "Power" button, double click "Resume" and release both buttons
-- each time you click "Resume" power indicator / willingness to change color (one-click - yellow, the second hitting - green). U printers with more than one indicator - indication switches (power indicator / preparedness - green indicator error - yellow)
-- after the buttons are released, power indicator / preparedness will be for some time to blink green (Stamford time depends on the printer model), and then the green light permanently
-- If after these actions instead of constantly burning green printer continues to display error, or you are mistaken in paragraphs 1-4 (turn off the printer and repeat with paragraph 1), or if additional printer error that must be corrected, or it will not go down to a service mode.

5. Four times click "Resume" (each time you click "Resume" power indicator / willingness to change color, and the printers with more than one indicator - indication switches: the willingness / error).

6. Once you click "Power" to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer "Power" button to click again.
For some printers (for example, iP2000) to switch off clicking "Power" again, that is three in a row.

Service error 5100?

This error means that there is something obstructing the printing process. Check inside your printer through the gears that you can see under the lid. There should be something obstructing the gears such as dirt or in my case popcorn. There was even some paper caught underneath the rollers that I had to jiggle around to even see. Check VERY thoroughly.

5100 is a carriage error, check the timing strip for contamination(plastic strip about 1/4" in width)
The unit is not homing, check for obstructions.
1. clean **** strip film
2. clean **** strip film sensor (back of head carriage)(use contact cleaner)
Also, try this reset procedure:

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal..
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
