I have a Windows XP computer with a Samsung CLP-510 color printer connected (by USB). The printer works fine from the XP computer, both color and black-and-white. The computer shares the CLP-510 over my home network. I believe I have updated to the latest CLP-510 printer driver for this printer from Samsung.
I have a separate Windows 7 computer. I want it to be able to print on the CLP-510 from this computer. I can print fine on the CLP-510 from this computer as long as I only want black-and-white. When I try to get color, I only get black and white. I believe I have updated to the latest CLP-510 printer driver on this Win 7 computer as well. Of course I tried to select color in the preferences when I sent the color print job.
What do I need to do to get the Win 7 computer to be able to network print in color on the CLP-510 on the XP computer?

Most probably you are using an USB cable that is either too thin (cheap cable) or too long (beyond 6ft.).

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink or toner cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridges that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks or toner causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead or photo conductors.
If you are using factory new ink or toner cartridges, then please call the manufacturer’s Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges
