The toaster oven does not toast. the oven and timer work, though

The toaster oven does not toast. the oven and timer works. I hear the timer ticking when the toast switch is turned. It turns and rings when it completes it time, but the coils do not turn on.

On the other hand, the oven works.

Would anyone know why?

This oven is brand new and never used. We cannot get the toaster part of the oven to work. Instructions read to turn temperature selector dial and cooking function to toast...done, the to turn toast shade selector to 20 and then turn back to diesired toast shade...done & not working. Baking & broiling seems to work, the oven coils heat up. We can hear the timer ticking when trying to toast, but the coils do not heat up. What's the deal? Did we buy something that didn't work in the first place? Model #CTO4500S

Your selector switch may be broken if the oven works on selections other than toast.

HOW DO I GET REPLACEMENT PART #TO1313-02 for my Black & Decker toaster Oven #TO1322SBD? I purchased the oven 5/27/2013 and it has not worked for a couple months.

B & D doesn't sell replacement parts, and only warantees the unit for 1 year.

Sorry, but you will need to replace the unit. Thank the lawyers who told them it is too risky.

Cuisinart tob-30bw,is not starting ?when i try to toast its not working

The problem is 4 capacitors on the small circuit boards inside. Three 220uf 16V and one 1uf 50v. These apprear to be going bad from internal heat drying them out and they fail. Symptoms include toast will not start when button pressed, or does start but then stops soon after. A buzz or hum heard when the Toast selection is made..(you should hear nothing until the start button is pressed) and the timer beeper no longer working. These are about $2 in parts, and easy for a good electronics person.

The blue light does not go on and the heating element does not wo

The problem is most likely the timer switch. They are very poorly made and tend to overheat causing eventual failure. B&D will be of no help and you will not be able to find the original switch. There is a switch made for Delonghi ovens that will work if you need a timer. The part # is 5218104600 and can be purchased for $10.98 at the Gourmet Depot website. This switch has a toast timer only if you turn it clockwise and turn counterCW for oven ON. Timer is only about 13 minutes. There is another switch that has a 120 minute timer. It looks the same and the part # is Delonghi 5218101800. May be harder to find. Another solution and a much cheaper one is to replace the broken switch with a single pole single throw toggle switch rated for 20 amp's at 120 volts. You will need to turn the oven on and off manually and you will no longer have a timer but at least you will be able to use your oven!

Will Purchase Oven or Parts from Non-Working Oven.

Al, your switch is likely a DKJ/1-60. As you know you can\'t find one, however there is a switch that will fix your oven. It\'s part # 05XDE5218104600 and is made for Delonghi ovens. It looks the same as the DKJ/1-60 and works the same. Get it at The Gourmet Depot website for $10 + shipping

Dead Delonghi toaster oven

Your timer switch burned out. The timer is manual and will tick even unplugged. Delonghi switches are available at The Gourmet Depot website or search "small appliance parts" for other places that sell the switches.

Cuisinart toaster oven modele no.TOB-30BWC, serial no.50421.

The contacts for these toasters fail. The plasic cam that depresses the contacts also can melt. The design is poor and no replacement parts are available. When selecting a setting, if the selection is not exactly perfect, the contacts arc and eventually fail. Unless cuisinart changes the selection cam to a solid state or relay, this failure will continue to happen during normal use. If your unit works properly do not switch the function setting while heating, this will cause the contacts to arc and erode the contact surface. This posting is applicable to the TOB-30BC, TOB-30BCC and probably all TOB-30XXX models.
