if you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules.

first you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system

you should always ask for a guarantee on the compatibility before making any purchase and try to buy for working pairs if possible

hope this helps

Ram cards

Hello,

Make sure that when you populate the memory slots that you are using like memory cards per memory bank set. Example: A1 and A2 consist of one blue and one beige slot. Use a 2GB card in one and a 2GB card in the next one. Starting with A1, use your 2GB memory cards first and then the 1GB cards. Once complete, reboot your system and enter into the BIOS to verify the total 12GB are being "seen" by the system.

Also, consider your os. If you are running Windows Vista 64 bit, Windows 7... they will only see 8GB max. OS like Windows server xxxx will be able to see all memory avaliable to the unit.

RK549AA-ABA SR2170NX problem: i think my second slot for ram is no good. i'm supposed to be able to install 2 gb max . I bought 1gb ram to install in slot # 2 but it doesn't work. can i install...

Is the 1Gb RAM you purchase the same make and speed as the original? If not, they may not be compatible with each other or the new RAM module may be faulty.
Try removing the RAM from slot 1 and insert the new 1Gb RAM module in slot and boot up your laptop to test the new 1GB RAM module.
Installing a single 2Gb RAM module should work.

I have Acer laptop Aspire 5570z module Zr1 with memory 1GB I want to increase memory 2GB or 3GB Is it possible or not What will be the expenditure?

Your laptop's RAM is upgradeable to up to 4 GB using two DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM modules.

So your upgrade options here are:
1. Buy a 1 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 2 GB (Price around US$ 25).
2. Buy a 2 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 3 GB (Price around US$ 45).

I need to upgrade ram memory in flybook V5 from 2 gb to 4 gb. How to do it?

If you are unsure of how to install memory, I would take your system to a repair shop and have them do it for you.

this system will support 4gb of ram, but what you have to buy depends on what you already have installed.

If you have a single 2gb stick, that's easy....buy another 2gb and have it installed. if you have two 1gb sticks....then you would have to purchase two 2gb sticks to upgrade.

I have a eMachines T5082 and have attempted to upgrade the RAM to 2GB (2x1 gb) PC4200. The problem is the computer will read either one or the other of the modules but not both at the same time. Any...

sorry, i re-read your post and saw that you are using 2 sticks,, if you have 4 slots for ram, insert one into the first slow, skip a slot and put the second stick in the 3rd slot, give it a try.

MacBook Pro 15'' RAM Problems

The earliest MacBook (Pro) models have a limit of 2 GB. To check the specific model, in the Apple menu select about this Mac. Then press more info... . Look at the line like "Model Identifier: MacBook5,2" for my white early 2009 MacBook. If the numbers are 1,1 then for sure you have the oldest model and are memory limited to 2 GB, as the sum of both cards.
That's just like my wife's, it was a Core Duo and not the current Core 2 Duo. Works fine. I was ready to up its memory but read about this in the Apple Support Forum. It came originally with 1 stick of 512 MB, IIRC. I upgraded it to 2x1 GB for a lot more than the 2x2 GB in the newer. BTW some of the Macs between these only take 3 GB but will work with 2x2 GB just throwing 1 GB away. -Ken
