Noisy Fan in Neff Combi Microwave/Oven. B6774.0gb

I have a neff Combi Microwave/Oven. B6774.0gb When I start either the Microwave or the Oven, there is a noise that sounds like a fan clattering. It is not the Fan at the back of the oven, as the noise occures even when this is not turning. Any solution, and can I fix it myself?

Yes, I have the nef B6774SOGB and I have the unbearable clattering noise on microwave mode and oven. I too have removed the glass on the ceiling and the blade does drop down, I have pushed it up a fraction but as said by other user, it wont stay in place.....has anybody tried to use the oven without the glass on??

I need to sort this out immediately as I cannot bear being in the same room as it and am reduced to salads for evening meals!!!

Noisy Fan in Neff Combi Microwave/Oven B6774.0gb

  • Anonymous Jan 05, 2009

Mine has just started with the same problem - any suggestions?

  • omap Jan 05, 2009

    how old is the oven

  • JonTravers Jan 06, 2009

We have exactly the same problem with a B6784 (same oven with grill), purchased in 2006. This is the third time it has developed the same symptoms - the first two times Neff were called out and the fan was replaced under warranty. This time they are refusing to send anyone out (unless we pay £70 callout + parts & labour) because it's longer than a year since it was repaired last.

The issue is with the high speed cooling fan (located above the microwave stiring blades in the top of the oven). Given the number of posts here and the recurrance of the problem I'd say this is probably a design fault with the oven which Neff should be sorting out (they are still selling these ovens). I will talk to them again tomorrow, and would suggest anyone with the same problem do the same.

My oven was purchased in Nov 2005, so I am guessing that Neff will insist on charging me for attempted repairs. However, as this clearly seems to be a design fault, I am thinking that a new oven may be less expensive in the long run. I will call Neff tomorrow and see where I get to! Maybe we should contact Watchdog!!

    Hi all

Thought that you would like to know that even though I have to pay the service fee (my oven is out of warranty), Neff are giving me 50% of the cost of the parts. Better than nothing.

We have the same oven, 18 months old, still under warranty, it too was noisey. It has failed twice and been repaired. First it was a fuse, this time it was again the fuse but the technician said it was also the control unit/inverter, which he replaced. It is fine again now for the moment. Such an expensive item is proving to be unreliable. I am writing to NEFF and asking for a replacement or at least a free extended warranty?

We had this problem - fixed today - its the chimney fan which extracts fumes and sends them to the cooling fan. Its an easy fix when you see the engineer replace the fan. Neff were excellent my warranty ran out 6 weeks ago and they replaced the part for free and all I paid was a call out charge. The rattling was caused by the blades coming loose from the fan

Neff combi oven - Cuts out after replacing glass in door Neff C67M70N3GB

I have two thoughts, both guesswork based on knowledge gained by researching answers here on Fixya.

If you removed the door completely, the safety microswitches need re-adjusting. The door and hinges usually has three or sometimes 4 to make it impossible to use the oven with the door open.

Or, modern ovens have a safety catch under the glass edges that won't allow the oven to work if there is NO glass on the inside, or no glass on the outside. In other words, there must be 2 (or 3) panes of glass to stop children, old folks and pets getting burned by door glass that is the same temperature as a oven.

The final possibility is that the microwave failing is coincidental and not related to the door glass being replaced!

I have a neff B6774N0GB combi oven. Activated the hot air button and it has tripped the circuit breaker. Fan element examined and looks perfect. Oven is isolated from other appliances

The hot air function uses a great deal more current than the other functions. Check the tag on the oven for current requirements, and check the rating of the circuit breaker in use. If the breaker is rated lower than the ovens rated maximum current draw, it will trip under the load. If the rating of the breaker is above the ovens maximum current draw, and there is nothing else plugged into that circuit, the breaker may need replacement.

Power Problems on NEFF H7871 Combi Microwave

It would seem there is a bad connection in the fuse holder or in the wall socket or in the microwave itself. Maybe you can narrow it down to the microwave by trying other devices in the wall socket. If it's the microwave, it's time to call for serivce.
