Hello!
We all as a canon printer consumer is needed to use Pro dot ink to refill.
Please remove your cartridge and clean up the cartridge head tightly by soft/toilet paper and replace again.
If it doesn't work clean it again and again... thanks
Very likely ink is not flowing well at the cartridge nuzzles. Ink must flow well to have a solid print.
Try this:- Bring out the ink cartridges. Get a well folded tissue paper, and press the ink cartridge nuzzle to it firmly. You should have a good blot of ink (solid line) on the tissue.
If you do not get a good blot of ink, know that this is the cause of the problem.
If however you get a good blot, try the next procedure:- Soak your tissue in some methylated spirit and clean the contact panel of the ink cartridge, do same to the area it makes contact with the print head inside the printer. Then try to print again.
Some nozzles could be burned out on the printhead, and you need to make sure you have no photo inks installed where regular inks should be. Photo magenta prints much lighter than regular magenta.
Not a new printer, but a new printhead will solve your problem. The number is QY6-0041-000. The cost is around $40.00. Instructions come with it to help you change it...
If your normal print looks OK, make sure that you are printing your pictures on the correct side of the photo paper. Most photo paper will only print properly on one side. If you print on the other side, the image looks very grainy and faded, and the ink will still be quite wet when it comes out of the printer.
