That seems low to me. Page 15 in your manual is the only oil discussion I found. Usually there is an oil pump adjustment reference somewhere. I didn't see one beyond return it for service on page 15. Are the chain and bar hot after cutting a while? I recommend you not get a longer bar without an oiler adjustment. I think the hand of the EPA has been here.

An IPL (exploded parts list) for a 440 can be found here:
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/USA/2009/I09000/I0901018.pdf
There is no oiler adjuster listed. HTH

Might be a good idea to copy the IPL,

    Serial number decode – for use with IPL

    06 1500198

    06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)

    15 = week produced - March

    00198 = 198th unit produced by Husky that week

How to replace gas vent on huaqvarna 51 chainsaw

Disassembly
The fuel tank vent is located on the right side of the fuel
tank next to the right rear rubber element. With the fuel
tank empty and the fuel hose disconnected at the
carburetor, remove the two rear rubber elements. Separate the rear of the crankcase and the fuel tank enough to expose the fuel tank vent. Working through the fuel filler opening, grasp the fuel tank vent tube with a pair of needle nose pliers. Push the vent out the other side.
For access to the right side rubber elements, first remove the chain brake cover, bar, chain, chain catcher and cover plate.
For access to the left side rubber elements, remove the starter housing.

Assembly
Install the fuel tank vent using a drift the same diameter
as the vent tube. The remainder of assembly is the
reverse of disassembly.

Not enough oil to lube bar while running causing chain to over heat. When refueling the gas is empty but oil tank is over half ful yet. How may I make adjustments to solve this problem?

The machine should always run out of fuel before it runs out of oil, youhave not said what model this is, not all machines have an adjustable oil pump, some are just set for a certain length of guide bar, adusters on the oil pump increase the throw of the pump shaft so will be a slot head screw usually on the under side of the crankcase, there will also be a picture embossed into the tank with a plus and a minus, before trying to alter the pump remove the guide bar and chain and clean the the oil entry hole in the bar, and from around the bar pad.

Husqvarna 350 chainsaw problen..not enough oil getting on the chain

The 350 had a three position oil pump, the adjuster is on the bottom of the saw, under the pump on the drive side, there is also a filter in the base of the tank, it is held with a single cross head screw, you can see it between on the drive side, between the fuel tank, it is grey in colour.

I have a 450, and I would like to increase my bar oil output. Where is the adjustment screw? Please!

There is no adjuster for the Husqvarna 450. Husqvarna recommend that if there's not enough oil reaching the bar that you slow down the engine by adjusting the carburettor screw. I have the same saw and also wanted to adjust the oil flow. I didn't change the carburettor and it's still cutting away without doing any damage. It's meant to use less than a tank full of oil to the tank full of fuel when you're cutting near constantly. With stops in between it will use more fuel and less oil.

I have the exact same saw. I bought it new 6 months ago also from lowes. It has the exact Same problems you are describing. It does not appear to be oiling the chain enough, the Chain is visibly dry,very hot , and dulls quickly. It uses a half tank of oil to a tank of gas. I am Also in search of an answer.

How much chan lubricant should be used and what is the grade of the oil

You want to buy Bar grade oil, it is sticky and stays on the chain, it will properly lube the bar and chain with a full tank o gas. People have used, used motor oil but this wears down the chain and gears from the micro sized filings in the oil so use clean bar oil to lube the chain correctly. also if the chain sprocket has a small hole in the tip of the saw you will need to buy a gear lube pump to keep grease in the gear at the tip of the blade. This should be lube each time you fill the fuel tank and once half way threw the tank of fuel to make the bar last longer. The bar oil is a special grade of oil and requires bar oil for it to adhere to the bar and the bar guides. Hope this helps and thanks for using fix-ya.

Husqvarna 137 Chain won't stop when idleing. I turned the T screw down just enough to keep it running chain keeps on going. Could it be the clutch?

your carburator is gummed up. Get some carb. cleaner additive for your fuel, run a couple of tanks of treated fuel through the saw and it will be ok.

Ive just bought a husqvarna 34 husky is this the model number 34? its serial number is 016810 but i cannot find details of it anywhere an want a manual can you tell me mixture also its my first chainsaw,...

Get Chain lube for the chain oiler. Naturally, husqvarna recommends that you use "genuine husqvarna" oil for your mixture, I recommend a quality oil, doesn't have to be husky. Husqvarna recommends a 50:1 ratio, other manufacturers, of vertually all 2 cycle power equiptment use a 40:1 ratio. This mixture is slightly richer, but will not hurt your chainsaw. May produce a bit more smoke. Not sure what a 34 husky is...neither is Husqvarna, I visited the website and even tried to download a manual. Looked at every husky model, no 34.
