At 9 mos...no power...no lights...no functions...Is there a reset

Does anyone know if there is a reset button within the Sharp xr-10x DLP projector. We had ours since last holiday season and it just went out...totally--no power...no lights...no functions. Hoping there is a reset button...as it appears to be more than a blow lamp (note our lamp had only 300 hrs) so I will not purchase a replacement (approx $190-$300 w/various online sources) until I can determine if the unit works. Sharp, of course will not warranty anything beyond the "90-day" warranty period--which is ridiculous for a $600 projector. Hope someone out there has an answer.

Thanks,

Solved my own problem with help from a previous post from 'fixya'

Hi, I just opened my Sharp xr-10x DLP projector today, which had no
power, no lights, no functions. A previous post worked for me...Remove
the 6 screws on the bottom of the unit (you'll need a longer phillips)
and the two screws on the back, toward the top of the unit. Obviously,
be sure to keep these handy for reassembly (I have two curious dogs and
a 4 year old to contend with). Then, to remove the housing...use a std
screwdriver and slightly pry the cover off from the rear of the unit.
This should losen allowing you to pivot the cover forward and then off
from the projector lens. If you need to reset your unit, the reset
button is near the lamp, not the lens (to the side of the lens). It is
a small red button--depress this. Next, you can connect the ac cord
and try powering up the unit. For me, I got a blinking red light but
could not power up the unit. I then opened up the lamp compartment on
the bottom of the unit (2 srcews) and remove the lamp. Next reconnect
the lamp...when doing so, make sure the two prongs fit the lamp--this
is the power supply. Then replace the lamp cover and retest the unit.
At this point, my projector powered up as it used to. Finally replace
the projector cover...from the lens then backward. Tighten all screws
and you, hopefully will be ready to use the projector again.

    Keep
in mind, your problem may be the need for a replacement fuse or lamp.
The fuse should be available at an electric supply shop or a Radio
Shack store. I have seen replacement lamps for $190-$275 available
    online.

Good Luck...Hope this helps you out. As I said, I just
completed this process myself today and am happy to have avoided the
shipping costs and $65 diagnostic fee + labor and parts to have Sharp
repair this. We are looking forward to 'movie night' on the 8' screen
tonight! Hopefully, you'll be enjoying your projector soon!

Unlock Sharp XR-10X-L Notevision Proj. says keylock function on

According to pg. 45 in the owner's manual, you turn Keylock function ON by holding down the ENTER key on the projector for about 5 seconds while the projector is being turned on.

To take the Keylock off-- Hold down the ENTER key on the projector for about 5 seconds. If the projector is in standby mode, you can release the keylock by holding down ENTER and STANDBY/ON keys simultaneously for about 5 seconds.

My Sharp XR-10x has no power or lights. Has worked and now does not.

if there are no leds lit, the bimetal breaker has probably tripped. remove the top case (6 screws on the bottom and the top 2 on the back). find the red button on the front of the lamp housing and press it. if it clicked, it has reset and will now work. if it didn't, you have a bad power supply. while you have the projector open, blow the dust out of it with canned air.

New bulb in now wont work - no power - wont turn on to reset lamp

first, make sure you have the correct lamp. the lamp for the xr-10x-l looks like the xr-10x, but the plugs are different (common mistake). make sure you have the AN-XR10L2/1, not the AN-XR10LP/1. to reset the lamp timer (with the projector plugged in but off), hold down the enter, down arrow, and menu buttons and press the power.
