My Fuel Fuse Keeps poping

I had my fuel pump replaced because the mechanics said i had a bad fuel pump. The fuel fuse still kept popping. However; i noticed that the car manual for 1999 2.2L calls for a 20 Amp fuse but my panel on my car calls for a 15 Amp. Can this be causing the fuse to keep poping?

Also; I placed a 15amp fuse between the fuse box and the fuel pump and the fuse does not pop there only at the fuse box. I also replaced the relay but it keeps doing it.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. I spoke with the manufacture and they said not to place a higher fuse or it would cause a fire. However; I went out and bought a meter that reads current which cost me about $40.00. I traced the issue back to the battery terminal which made no sense because i had just cleaned it from corrosion. I decided to replace the terminal and when i cut the cable; there was corrosion. I then cut it open about a foot and the entire line was bad. I replace the battery cable and my fuse stopped blowing. Hope this helps anyone else.

Fuel pump fuse keeps popping

You have a short to ground or the pump is starting to go bad. You can run a seperate wire from the hot side of the fuse to your pump to see if it is the pump or if you use an ohm meter to check the wire and the pump. Get's a little technical though.

My fuel pump fuse keeps popping and we just changed the fuel pumpand it still pops it what could that be {98 dodge neon)

Check your power wire to the pump. It must have a bare spot somewhere, and is grounding out. Probably on top of the gas tank.

i had the same problem on my other 'burb ('90 2wd with same engine).
after dropping the tank ( about 5 miles after i filled it up!) because i thought the pump had cooked, i figured out the fuse had popped, and kept popping occasionally after that. i re-ran the wiring to the fuel pump, and this fixed the problem.
i checked the old wiring for any short/break in the wire, as there was not any visiable signs of a short, but still couldn't find anything concrete to say "this is where the short was!". but, it didn't matter, since the replaced wiring never gave me an issue and i didn't have to replace another fuse again! good luck brother.
