For any severe cartridge error related message, on the HP C4600, C4700 or D110a printer models, I suggest you run the internal Tap 41 diagnostics test which will tell you the electrical health of the ink cartridge - in many cases the cartridge is internally electrically damaged and will need to be replaced. In addition, you can temporarily bypass an 'incompatible cartridge(s) or Missing/Not Detected error message by performing the Cartridge Error Bypass procedure...refer to two Youtube videos on how to do this:

Print cartridge(s) missing or not detected

Hi,

If you are getting Incompatible ink cartridge error and These cartridges were replaced a year ago, I think its time you call them once again. ( 1-800-474-6836 ) and report the issue. They will ask you for the Cartridge details like part # and expiry date on the cartridge.

I got 3 months ago message on hp officejet j4580 display: Print cartridge problem: [Tri-Colour]. Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot. Today while printing a document, i noticed printing with...

You must be using HP60.
Have you refill your cartridge at all?

If you did, gentely wipe out the cartridge circuit part with Q-tip (with bit of alcohol).
And wipe out the circuit part in the printer where cartridge goes in as well.

And try back.
Sometimes by having some dust or bit of ink make cartridge unreadable.

If you used brand new, do same thing to cartridge circuit part.
Otherwise, there got to be some circuit shot happen in printer.

For your reference, HP4580 is pretty new model and has not cause major problem.
Good practical and durability is good.

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".

Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.
For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video.
And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

Incompatible print cartridge - tri color

Here's two possible solutions...you can replace the cartridge as some times they can be prone to electric/electronic problem which renders them useless. You may be able to return the defect cartridge.

Option two is to reset the printer by following these steps:
1)Make sure your cartridges are installed.
2)Unplug the power to the printer and wait about 20 seconds
3)Press and hold the # and 3 keys (while unplugged)
4)Plug the power back in (you should see a reset message on the machine)
5)Release the # and 3 keys and follow the prompts

Incompatible print cartridge

If you purchased the cartidge recently (30 days or less), then just bring it back to the store and tell the associates that it simply stopped working, they may be able to exchange it for you.
If not, you will probably need a new cartidge. The good thing about HP cartidges is that the print head (which is probably your problem) is built in, so issues are usually solved by just buying a new one. This, of course, means you have been replacing your print head every time you run out of ink, which adds up quickly in costs; but thats another subject
Hope that helps, Good Luck!

Incompatible cartridge

Hi,
Could be a bad cartridge too also.
Remove and reseat the cartridge, (power on)

On the front panel, press the Menu or Setup button (depending on the model).

Press the right arrow button (>) until Maintenance or Tools is displayed, and then press the OK or Enter button (depending on the model).

The Clean Print Cartridges message should display on the front panel.

Press Enter or OK to begin the cartridge cleaning process.

Clean the contacts on the device and cartridges

Using a cotton swab or lint free cloth with distilled or bottled water, clean the electrical contacts of the cartridge

Failing these, replace the cartridge.

Hope this helps

F380 deskjet - error - refuses to pront

I have this printer with the same problem , worked fine for 1 year, printed over 1600 pages total ( according to the built in HP program that records how many pages I printed and how many times I used the printer) then it stopped printing. The ink cartridges are new, the software is fine, and it says ink levels are good. It physically goes through the motions of printing, loads the paper, makes all the normal sounds it used to and pushes out the paper when it's done - but the page is blank. I did some surfing and read some info that some HP printers are pre-programmed to stop certain functions so you buy a new printer. I know that might sound crazy. How long have you had the printer and how many pages do you think you printed?

HP 1350V all-in-one

Hi, You need to get a new ink cartridge. It is really not recommended to refill ink cartridges but if you do then it is advisable not to exceed 3 times because it could damage the printer head. If the new inks still gives error, then your printer head may need to be checked to see if it needs replacing. Good luck!

Cyan cartridge

My IP4200 started doing this about a week ago it tells me I have two Cyan cartridges. I don't, cartridges are canon cartridges and were changed four months ago worked fine until now. Pressing the middle button the resume button is working eventually, so far, but I don't know for how long. Seems like a hardware problem as I deleted and reinstalled the software no difference and everything worked fine for the first four months.
