Disconnect the printer and check on the right: is the urge unit ok ? No peace of paper ?
Solution 2:
Do a reset of the printer:
Power on
Hold down the "Resume" button (triangle in a circle) for 15 to 20 seconds.
Solution 3:
Power off the printer.
Open the door.
Power on.
When the cartridge is in the center, close the door.
Solution 4:
Open the lid and allow the ink cartridge carrier to center itself.
Looking to the right, you will see a row of white rollers behind the carrier.
At the end of the rollers there is a small, clear piece of plastic that sticks up. Take a small piece of a paper towel and wipe all of the ink off this piece of plastic. When that is clean move on to the ink pad.
About 1 inch, towards the front of the printer from that piece of plastic, is a small square, about 1/2 inch per side, that is a small foam pad. This is where the excess ink is collected.
Take a piece of paper towel and press into the foam. Do this until the paper towel is no longer collecting ink. Close the lid, turn off the printer then turn it back on.

The Problem Canon PIXMA MP800 Error 6A00
1. The print head cartridge keeps locking itself up on the right hand side. 2. Frequent 5100 errors even when the printer is on standby 3. Even when I wipe up the print cartridge, the next print will mess up the bottom of the print cartridge with ink again.

1. Opening the cover and wait for ink carriage to center 2. Pull out power cord 3. Pushed carriage to far left (should slide easily) 4. # Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel. # Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right). # Continue doing this until it looks clean. # Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing. # Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.
1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier. 2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.
# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.
I would start by removing the printhead and wiping any ink carefully from the bottom surface. Next unplug machine while the carriage is in the center, way over on the right is a wiping assembly that wipes the bottom of the printhead. Wipe any excess ink off these wipers with a q-tip or paper towel. Should help...

Problem similar on canon ip4300 was solved by removing semi dry ink from black sliding rail. White plastic slide was stuck to the right side (spring was still stretched when printing head I moved to the left). Slide the white plastic slide to the left and clean the rail. This slide must be free to move left and right.
wipe off the contacts on back ink cartridge with a microfiber towel moistened with alcohol also wipe of the printhead (area where ink cartridge contacts the paper) then reinstall and try printing.
