Have deep well vetical sta rite pump both pipes in ground staying full of water will not pump press does not looose prime but wont build press

shut off pump breaker at the lowest faucet drain completely. Turn it back on. If this doesn't work, you have to change out the pressure valve on the side of the tank. it's not hard.

Do u have to prime all pumps

YES all pool pumps need to be primed, failure to do so will destroy the shaft seal AND could cause serious damage to the pump and motor. starving pumps is bad also. Make sure they have water, it makes them happy.

How do we hook up this pump up to our pool

HORISONTAL LINE IS THE SUCTION LINE.(SKIMMER AND DRAIN) ..THE ONE THAT COMES OUT THE TOP IS THE DISCHARGE LINE, THIS ONE GOES TO THE FILTER. USE SILICONE ON THE FITTINGS THREADS, THREAD TAPE CAN END UP CRACKING THE PUMP. THIS STA RITE IS THE BEST PUMP!!!.. PRIME PUMP WITH WATER AFTER ANY PUMP REPAIR !!

2 hp vertical sta-rite well pump

Did you prime the pump? To prime: Before turning pump on, unscrew plug cap from top of pump (usually on pump impeller housing,) and with a pitcher or garden hose, fill pump full of water, and replace plug. Then turn pump on and see if problem is solved. If leaking: Are all fittings tight, O-rings and seals new, and is there any pipe thread tape on all threads w/o seals?
