Click on Start - run - cmd. in the black window that opens type ping 4.2.2.2. and hit enter. If you get four lines that say reply from 4.2.2.2 this would mean you are connected to the internet. If you get any other message other than this, would mean you are not connected to the internet.
Thanks

Define "no connectivity".

Does the iPad now have Internet access?

If you use an Ethernet cable to connect from a LAN port on the router to the network port on any desktop/notebook computer, does that computer get Internet access?

If you take an iPod Touch, and click SETTINGS and then click WI-FI, and then you select the SSID of your network, does the iPod get Internet access?

I am trying to connect a new laptop to my home network. The wireless connection indicates that it is connected to the internet, but i canno get to the internet. I have statically assigned an IP like...

Internet explorer... Under the address bar you should see "file, view edit, favorites, tools and help" click on tools, internet options and go to the connections tab. make sure you have nothing in the white box then click on LAN settings. I bet you have "proxy settings" checked. None of the boxes should be checked.
