How to install router wr740n v4 without resource cd
Milan have you got the user manual as it clearly explains how to set up the router and configure it manually !
http://www.tp-link.com.au/resources/document/TL-WR740N_V5_User_Guide.pdf
Your modem device already on your network has to have an IP address of 192.168.0.1 and according to the user manual the router detects the conflict in ip address and allocates its IP address as 192.168.1.1. If you IP address is different say 10.0.0.1 then you will have to plug just the router in to your Laptop and alter the i/IP address to 10.0.0.2 and turn off the DHCP server if the modem or existing router has DHCP. You will need to alter any existing DHCP server to have the first 10 IP addresses skipped for available leases to the computers.
