The pages of docs are jamming near exit of paper and/or pulling other pages also. The roller looks worn. How easy is it to replace the rollers ourselves?

It is really easy to replace the roller. You open up the scanner using the pinch tab on the front and lift the lever that holds the rollers and pull them out to replace them with new ones. New rollers can be purchased on ebay.

Canon Dr2050C Duplex scanning reverse page all black

Check your brightness setting for backside. Ideally keep it automatic, else you can manually choose the right brightness.

Dr-2050c multi-page document stops scanning after one or a few pages, inconsistently. Feed lever is down in the multi-page position. Feeder tries to separate the pages: sometimes it succeeds. Document...

If the scanner is scanning but stops after a few pages either it could be because of a) There is insufficient disk space (you need to delete unwanted files or direct the comp to store whre there is space) or b) the rubber rollers are not able to separate pages and feed the papers for scanning.(You need to change the rollers)

Line going down page

Don't know if this is a solution per se but I replaced the glass bar (there is a part # on it) on the inside front of the scanner and still got a line. Then I played around with the back scanner glass and still got a line then I got in there real good and cleaned and when I scanned something it would show no lines until I saved the document then I got two lines. Thought it was my software going haywire but I did not give up, got some canned air and alcohol and cleaned the glass once again and blew out every part I could find and the problem resolved itself. Apparently the smallest piece of lint or dust, smudge or anything foreign on the scanner lenses will cause this line. But I love this scanner and I wasn't willing to give it up or pay $600 for a new one. Only had it a little more than a year. Persistence seems to be the key but check those little scanner bars and be careful, they are tricky to get out.

My Canon DR-2050C keeps jamming when I try to scan more than 1 page???

I finally solved my problem. Now it works like new.

Cause:

- The spring that returns the next sheet detector (small black plastic rocker arm between the two rollers on the back side) came off. So the scanner cannot detect transition from one page to the next. This spring is located inside the device and you cannot fix it from the outside.
- You know if you have this problem if you don't hear a "click" sound after each page is scanned. Without the spring attached the rocker will not return on every page. When it doesn't return the scanner think it is still on the first page and will not scan the next page. The "click" after each page is NORMAL. Without the click is the first sign your spring came off.

Solution (Only recommended for people handy with hardware and the unit is no longer under warranty)

1. Turn off power and unplug the device.
2. Pop off the plastic cover to the back of the scanner
3. Remove the screws that holds the plastic cover to the back.
4. Remove the screw by pushing on the retainer clips. DO NOT loosen any gears or motors.
5. Locate the rocker arm and re-connect the (very small) spring

6. Warning - if the LED light pipe falls out be careful how you put it back. This is a transparent widget at the top to route a LED light to the top of the device to indicate the power on status.

Sorry I didn't take pictures. If this sounds too complicated, send it to Canon for repair. Took me about a day to figure out exactly what was wrong and how to disassemble the scanner to fix it.

Good luck.

DR-2050C Scanner all sheets feed thru only one scans

Do you get an error message after the first scanned image? If not, check your software settings to see if you have the option of single page /multipage scanning. Some software lets the customer choose a single page scan when the SCAN button is pressed.

Check the "Feed Select Lever" to make sure it is in mutifeed position. If not, it will grab all of the docs at once.

DR 2050C

This has something to do the brightness chosen. In the manual mode, if you choose a dark output, the output will have tis area also; if you choose, lighter output, it will omit. In the auto scan mode, the scanner decides what is the best output.

Canon 2050C scanner

In the software, select 'multipage' option. (Check this box). The output will be collated and provided to you as a single file.
