Initailly there was a dev. sys config file or something of that nature on the GPX website like a year ago that would allow you to replace and/or access your music and/or the GPX mp3 player, however 2-3 years later they have fixed bugs and put out many other mp3 players so your luck of finding this file is dwindling. try it w/ and w/out batteries and try to go to win explorer as oppsed to "my computer"

Brand new GPX mp3 player will not pair or show up on usb drive

Instruct the computer to search for it. The computer should automatically find it and load drivers, but it should show in Windows Explorer as a volume in the left pane. Where are you looking?

It will only pair with a computer if the computer has Bluetooth and most don't. Pair with a smartphone.

How do I transfer my music to my device? This device is capable of playing MP3 and WMA (4ithout DRM) files. To load files requires a computer with a USB connection and the minimum requirements of Windows XP .
  • Connect the player to the USB cable provided in packaging, and then connect the other end to your computers USB port.
  • Once connection has been made between the device and your computer, a "GPX" drive will appear in the computer directory.
  • Double click on the GPX drive
  • Drag and drop your MP3 files and folders into the Music or playlist folder

1. Connect your ML648B to your computer with Windows XP or later.

4. ML648B will now mount 2 drives, one as Tools (as CD-Drive) and second as Removable Disk (Drive) – under My Computer on your Windows Desktop.
5. Double click & open Tools, and run Setup.exe to start installing Video Conversion Software tool.
6. Select defaults options and finish the installation by clicking on Close or Finish.

ANSWER QUICKLY PLEASE!!!

There could be more than one reason - the most likely is that the HOLD button has been engaged. Your USB port may not be 2.0 - try a different usb port on your computer. You could be running Windows Vista or some other incompatible OS. You may have forgotten to download the install CD. The following information is straight from GPX themselves:
"What if I cannot troubleshoot an error message?" You will need to format your player. Connect the player to your computer using your USB cable. Make sure the HOLD switch is in the unlocked position.
Formatting can be done in two ways:
  1. Within the Start menu, select My Computer. In the My Computer folder, right-click on the icon representing your GPX player. You will be given a list of options. One of them will be to Format your drive. Click on this to erase everything on your GPX player. A warning will pop up to make certain that this is the choice that you want to select. Once your player is formatted, reload your music files onto your GPX player.
  2. Open Windows Media Player. In version 10, open the Sync tab. On the right-hand side, there will be a listing for GPX audio player. Just above this and to the right are a set of four icons. The icon furthest to the right represents, “Format storage media.” This icon resembles a pencil. After formatting, synchronize music to the player. In version 11, open the Sync tab. On the far left column, there should be a listing for GPX Audio Player. Right-clicking on this listing will result in a menu containing Format. Select this to erase everything on your mp3 player.

MW3337 MP3 Player

Windows Vista includes MediaPlayer 11. Upon plugging the GPX into the USB it should give you the "AutoPlay" dialog box and you would click on "Play Audio Files" with "Windows Media Player". If you have Vista Basic, you may be out of luck.
I have also had success using the Windows explorer and treating the player like a flash drive by dragging the MP3 files onto the player's icon.
