Press and hold power button for 12 seconds to reset tv dont use remote to do this. Then it should work.

i understood your problem, with your SYLVANIA 6842THG
there is main problem in your "picture tube's accelerating anodes".the best way to bring your TV to service center it may need to replace your picture tube.

these binoculars were made for astronomy or day viewing but are hard to hold steady by hand, best to use tripod...bak4 prisms means you should get a sharp image from edge to edge, in cheaper models with cheap prisms only the center of the field of view is [email protected]

Sorry, but there is no cheap method of repair for this unless it is in warranty.

This TV will require replacement of the LCD Prism unit.

This Prism blocks and allows colors so that the 3 LCD images may be mixed to produce the final image you see on the screen. When this becomes damaged or defective, it leaks colors (light). This Color Leakage apears as spots on the screens.

Where you see the spots is where the specific spot on the prism that is leaking light, the specific color that is leaking also.

This parts cost alone is normally $500 to $1000 dollars but is usually replaced under warranty.

if its remote control try pressing no 1 and see if it comes on.alternatively the on and off switch if faulty on th tv,but the remote control should still switch it on.also switch off the tv for 24 hours by completely removing it from the mains and see if that resets it.

This problem sounds like a short inside the picture tube itself unless a driver transistor failed that drives the red gun in the CRT. You may have to take it to an authorized repair facility if the picture tube is still in warranty.
