Have Sylvania CR202SL8 TV with same problem. Cannot stop the scan or reset TV. It turns off at 15 minutes as designed when no action or signal. DId you ever find a solution? It had been in storage for years. Inititally, on power on it turned off on its own. Let it rest and retried and went in to Menu, I scanned the channels on antenna and worked fine for 15 minutes. Showed Now Scanning for seconds but image came back. Then it went into the Now Scanning screen and got stuck. It did once get to the menu (don't know if on its own or my trying remote control button combinations) and was able to restart the scan (DTV/TV option, don't have DTV only option)...apparently it scanned digital, but started scanning for on air channels and got stuck on Now Scanning.

It sounds that the width of the picture to your TV is more than normal. There are two reasons for this fault. If the width adjustment data value in its service menu mode has been misaligned or the output DC voltage from the main power regulator is more than normal. You can determine which among the condition stated above is now effected to your TVJust look at the picture. If the width and height of the picture is seem to be more than normal, make sure that the power regualtor section circuit has the fault. If the dimension of the picture is affected to its width only, [excess than normal] the data value with service mode should be checked. Also note the position of the picture. If the picture position has moved so much than normal, ether towards left in this case, you have to adjust the picture position. Anyway, it will be best to contact any experienced service technician, since, service mode entry and data adjustment are skilled work.

It does not have a audio output but it has a digital output you should use same unit with digital output or input and use a fiber optic cable. hope this help good day and best regards.

1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.

Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search. OK.

Could be a blown fuse inside. You can check this yourself if you are comfortable doing so. Remove the screws around the back edge of the set and remove the cover. Look around on the circuit board close to where the cord connects to it. You should see a small glass fuse. Use a pen or small screwdriver to pry it out. If you see any black inside, it's probably blown. This can happen for any number of reasons and doesn't necessarily mean that there's a problem. In this case, examine the shiny end caps for a number followed by the the letter 'A'. This is the current rating of the fuse. (ex., 3A means a 3 amp fuse). Get one at Radio Shack or other electronics store, replace it and try it out.

If the fuse is good, you will see a tiny wire running straight through the center. If it's good, then there's something else wrong that will require a professional.

is the screen dark?, if is it, see if the TRC filament is light, if is it afirmative, turn a little clockwise the fly back knob that say SCREEN and watch if there is a horizontal line at midle of the tv screen. if is it, your problem is in the vertical stage.
