Cannot reset as I cannot use the other buttons. This happened when moving receiver for recabling. The remote doesn't work either. can press all buttons to my hearts content with no change. Fortunately the volume works and it's on Dolby Pro Logix versus stereo. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Very easy to fix. If you want to DIY, just send an email to me This is a very common faulty found in Onkyo av-amp. You may think it is weird. I must tell you, however,I buy faulty av-amp to repair and sell them out. Hence, I will not tell you here.
This may be a microprocessor problem. I have friends with the same issue. One guy’s top end Denon with change all by itself. I just bought a brand new Marantz sr last years top of the line and it’s only three weeks old and it changed from tv to blue ray all by itself and the volume turns off, time to go back

I had the same problem and this is what I did to fix it. Assuming that all of your equipment is powered on, (tv, blu-ray/dvd, rca receiver) you'll need to go into your dvd players audio menu and select the dolby digital audio.
Once you do this, the digital signal is sent to your receiver from the dvd. The receiver should automatically set itself to the dolby digital preset. If it doesn't, press the surround button until you reach it. I found part of this information here. And the rest was personal experience.
Also, it depends on if the disc format is in dolby 5.1. I hope this helps you.

Not sure I can solve, but maybe help. I am having a similiar problem. However, make sure you Analog Audio (RCA type) cable are connected even if using Digital connection between the two. They use those cable to send the Commands (Mentioned in the documentation).
If you did get yours to work, please give me a hint... I upgraded mine from a 603 to a 701 and haven't been able to get it to work since.

if what Dark_Orbit said does not work try doing a master reset by ressing and holding the dvr/vcr button and stand by button simultaneously. This would erase all your assignments so you would need to reassign all your sources hooked up to your onkyo.
