Hello Allister, I would first start with a reset of the receiver. After the reset go into the level calibration menu. If you are still getting no audio test tones then the receiver would either have to be repaired or replaced. Thanks, FM9

What kind of screwdriver do I use to take apart my onkyo rc-602m apart

Just look at the screws involved - usually they will be 'star' ones and sometimes very small as well as medium. Therefore get a good set of 'star' screwdrivers for your repair toolkit!

There is no sound coming no matter what source

Have you checked the speaker select switch on the front of the receiver? "A" "B" or "A +B" or "Off". Sounds simple, but it happens! If you still have an issue post a comment and I can help you troubleshoot some more.

Powered zone 2 is not activated onkyo txsr602

You have to make sure that you have activated zone2 in setup? It is defaulted as 7.1 Activating zone2 makes it 5.1 + 2 (make sense)
Also zone2 only outputs audio hooked up thru the analog connections

I have the receiver hooked

I don't know what kind of tv you have but, receivers can pass video along to the tv but, are not the best way to go. If you have the capability of running your video components dirctly to tv then sound out to receiver, you would get better results. Component video is great, as good as or, better than HDMI, the only advantage to HDMI is the audio but, digital optical for audio is great also. Component video cables can be tricky because you have to make sure the connectors are in all the way. If they are not inserted properly, you probably notice too much blue or green. While watching your cable, try twisting and pushing connectors and see if you notice any change in the color quality
