This is a common battery fault. Your battery pack needs replaced. It will be covered under Dysons 2 year warranty. Give them a call.

SOURCE: Not holding charge

Ok, folks.. I just posted my own problem with the battery not holding it's charge..but, we fixed it ourselves.. take the motor loose from the canister , remove the filter and in the back are two contacts.they are two screws at the bottom one on each side... get out your pencil with a GOOD eraser and clean those contacts!..clean around them both and the contact (silver spot at the bottom) and you're good to go!!

SOURCE: My hand held Dyson vacuum will not charge. Every

My same symptoms are - after starting charge, Red light is on, then second light turns On. Then for a long time nothing happens. And later I have all three LED flashing.
I replaced battery and nothing changed.

Imeasured Power Supply voltage and found it 24.2v instead 28v as it stated on the label.

I opened it up and found that the three-lid chip marked 431 is faulty.
431 is a voltage shunt, which sets and controls output voltage.
You can use AIC431CUS or TL432 (TL431 has different pinout).
I replaced mine and volatge back to 28.25v and charger is now working as it should.

You can also use any TO-92 431 chip - there is enough room for it.

Good luck!

SOURCE: I have a 2 year old Electrolux ergorapido cleaner

    No, not worn out batteries.
For my experience, if the batteries were worn, they would charge with the blue led being on and after that, the vacuum wouldn't hold his charge. just that.
This is a different problem. Check the contacts between the charging station and the vacuum, mines got bent a bit and stopped making contact. This has happened twice and just fixed it about 30 min ago. That is why the led first lights and then goes off, there was just a brief contact between them.
Nice vacuum, very powerful and handy but maybe it is just poorly made as it is engineered in Sweden but built in China.

SOURCE: the green light on my Dyson dc35 will only stay on for 3 min.

Hi Dave, it's Jack at Dyson.

The symptoms you're describing sound unusual, and we're keen to help you check whether the fault lies with the battery, or with the charger assembly. Once we've determined which replacement part will resolve the issue, we can also confirm whether this is covered under your 2-year Dyson parts and labour guarantee.

When you have your DC35 easily to hand, just give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU) to run through some simple diagnostic checks.

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

My Dyson SV03 cordless vacuum has quit working and has a flashing red light. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Hi. It’s either the Main Body or Battery that’s faulty. It’s rare for the main body to fail and quite common for the battery to fail.

Red = flashing 1 to 10 times means needs a new body

Red -= flashing 11 or more times means needs a new battery

Dyson v6: It looks like it stopped charging.

If it's only 2 weeks old, you could have a defective either charging system or just a bad battery. Most places offer free replacement within 30 days of purchase. I would take it back to your place of original purchase. I hope that helps!

When I plug it in to charge the blue charging light comes on for 2 or 3 minutes then goes out and charging stops. Have I blown the charger by constantly leaving it plugged in? Please help!

Hi Alvina, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC59 will display a blue indicator light at the base of the hand grip while the machine is taking in power. The light will go out when the machine is fully charged. DC59 will take 3.5 hours to charge fully when the charge is completely depleted, but it will take less time than this if there is still some charge remaining on the battery after use.

Please note, the machine's intelligent control software is designed to ensure the battery only takes in enough power to recharge, and to keep itself topped up. It's safe to leave the machine connected to the charger at all times when not in use - the machine is designed to be stored in this way, so it's always ready to go when you need it.

From the information you've provided, I'm not clear on whether or not you're finding your DC59 works as normal once the blue charging light goes out, or whether it's not working at all. To make sure everything is correct, please get in touch with our experts directly. We'll be happy to talk you through some simple diagnostic checks when you have your machine easily to hand.

You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK).
