Dyson DC25 Vacuum Questions & Answers
Hose in DYSON too tight and hard to pull out
The problem is not a twisted hose. The hose itself is way too stiff. It pulls the vacuum around instead of expanding to reach. I hate this hose and it's too bad, because the vacuum works well, but trying to use the hose attachment it futile because it just doesn't stretch out unless the vacuum is pinned up against something to keep it from rolling and tipping over.
The ball is not rolling freely on the dyson dc 25
Inspect closely while spinning the ball looking for a rubbing or restriction. Look for a crack or debris that could be causing it. Remove the ball shell to inspect it looking for cracks, check the bearing and the area the ball shell connects to the vacuum to try to find the cause.
How do I take dyson dc25 apart to change reset switch
Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.
I don't think there is a reset button to any Dyson cleaners. However, your Dyson vacuum has a safety device which automatically shuts off if it begins to overheat. In cases like this, you may need to wash your filters and check for blockages. If your machine turns off on its own, unplug it and leave it for at least an hour to cool down. Before turning it back on, make sure that there are no blockages in the attachments and filters are washed.
You can purchase a wide variety of high quality Dyson replacement parts for your Dyson vacuum direct from Think Crucial with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

No power to brush head after replacing complete brush unit with a new one.
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
If the replacement cleaner head hasn't resolved the issue with your DC25, we'd appreciate the opportunity to take some further details and talk you through some simple troubleshooting checks. These will help us if a repair from a qualified Dyson engineer is needed - if this is the case we can also confirm if your DC25 is still covered by its Dyson warranty.
When you have your machine to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
We'll look forward to speaking with you.
The brushes do not spin. Nothing caught in the brushes.
Hi, it's Jack at Dyson.
DC25 doesn't use a conventional, user-replaceable belt. Instead it it uses a belt engineered to last the lifetime of the vacuum in normal use, protected by a sensor which shuts off the brush bar if something jams it.
Normally, checking the cleaner head for obstructions and removing any threads or hair from the brush bar and endcap will allow you to reset your machine:
However if you've already followed each of the steps shown in our video guide without success, you may need a replacement cleaner head or a repair of your machine. If you can contact us directly we should be able to arrange this for you, and can also confirm if this is covered under your Dyson warranty.
When you have your DC25 easily to hand, please get in touch with the Dyson Customer Helpline so we can help determine if a repair or replacement part is needed. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
We'll look forward to speaking with you.
Do you have an extension hose, not a replacement for original?
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
We don't make an extension hose for DC25. As a full-size upright, DC25's hose and wand should be long enough to reach up the average flight of stairs.
I hope this information helps, but if you'd like any additional advice you're welcome to contact the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
Change the belt
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
DC25 doesn't have a traditional, user-replaceable belt. Instead, the belt is engineered to last the lifetime of the machine in normal use. The belt is protected by a sensor which shuts off the brush bar if something jams it. If the brush bar isn't currently rotating it's very unlikely to be related to the belt itself - instead, the cleaner head may just need resetting.
Please follow the steps shown in our video guide to remove any threads or hair from around the brush bar and in the end cap.
It's important to note that the brush bar will never rotate when the machine is standing upright. Make sure you recline your machine into the normal vacuuming position before testing it.
If you'd like further help after giving this a try, our experts are on hand. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU). If a repair or a replacement part is needed, we can also confirm if your DC25 is within the Dyson parts and labour guarantee period.
The Dyson Ball gets stuck on DC25
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
If your DC25's ball seems to get stuck, this is likely to be because the post-motor filter is out of position, and is catching on the inside of the ball shell. This is simple to resolve - the video below shows how to remove and replace the post-motor filter. Push it firmly back down into position until you hear a click from the red catch.
If for any reason you find that the issue reoccurs, the best course of action would be to contact our experts directly so we can help make sure the filter isn't damaged in any way. If it is, we can take some further details to confirm whether a replacement is covered under your Dyson guarantee.
You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
How do you clean the filter on dyson 25
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
DC25 has two filters engineered to last the lifetime of the machine in normal use. We'd recommend washing these at least once every 3 months using cold water without detergent. Make sure both filters are totally dry before replacing them - this could take at least 24 hours.
If you'd like further help or advice, please contact our experts directly by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
