If you then upgrade your operating system for example from windows vista to windows 7, then suddenly some hardware including sounds, lancard, vga experienced some troubles, I do suggest you downgrade again your operating system or find appropriate compatible drivers that will work for your new operating system. first remove all the USB Devices connected to the Computer, go to Device Manager, uninstall all the USB Drivers and restart the Computer. after the restart, the Operating System should reinstall the USB Drivers automatically as the USB Drivers are Operating System generic. If this does not work, go to Device Manager, right click on the USB Device having Yellow Exclamatory mark and click on Update Device/Driver and select search for the best driver in these location and in the location type C:\Windows\inf and click next. This should resolve the issue. If this does not work, you can try performing the System restore where the USB ports are working normally.
However, if you want to install the Windows XP Operating System in the Computer then you can install it in the Computer but you have to search a lot to get proper Driver for the Computer.
