Paper Jammed totally removed but indicator still records paper jammed

If the error indicator light is lit, then the Canon printer is jammed. To fix a paper jam you must remove the paper tray, disconnect the AC power adapter, wait 5 seconds, then plug the printer back in. The usual cause of "fake" paper jams is a prior "real" paper jam. One of two things occurs.

1. A small bit of paper tears off the jammed stock and hides from view, but keeps the printer jammed. These can be hard to find and remove, depending upon where they are.
2. In the process of yanking the jammed paper out of the unit, the sensor(s) become damaged or misaligned and give false jam indications. This usually needs repair or replacement.

The paper jam is a common problem, you need not to replace to ink cart.
Check the plain paper inserted properly or there is no paper inside, Put power OFF and ON. Also some model needs to press OK or START key to remove the paper jam message after removing the jammed paper.

Did you try unplugging the power cord and waiting a couple of minutes, then plug back in and see if the printer resets itself. Also try checking all the paths that the paper travels through the machine for any scraps of paper that may have torn off during the jam up. Sometimes a very small scrap will prevent printers from resetting themselves. Also disconnect the printer from the computer before unplugging so the printer doesn't receive any signal from the computer. It may not mean anything.

When a paper jam occurs during printing for some reason, the printer beeps, displaying the message <PAPER JAM> in the display. When a paper jam occurs, remove the jammed paper using the following procedure, and then resume the job. If the message that indicates the paper jam does not disappear even after removing the jammed paper following the procedure, there is a possibility that torn pieces of paper are still left inside the printer. Inspect each part of the printer again, and completely remove all pieces of jammed paper.

A 241.09 Paper Jam message indicates that the printer thinks a sheet of paper has jammed at the front of the printer. The jammed sheet of paper is most likely to be found in one of the paper trays or under the toner cartridge.
NOTE: If you select Show areas on the operator panel, you can view one or more images to help you locate and clear the jam.

Clearing the jam
To resolve the paper jam message, you must first clear the entire paper path. To access the jam area, you will need to open one or more of the paper trays. Follow the steps in the table below to help you locate and clear the jam.
Step Action Image 1 Open the printer paper tray (tray 1), and remove any jammed media you find there. 2 Open the front cover and remove the toner cartridge. Examine the area inside the printer and remove any jammed media you find there. 3 If you have a duplex option installed, also remove the duplex access tray and remove any jammed media you find there. 4 If you were printing from an optional paper tray, such as tray 2 or tray 3, open any optional trays, starting at the top, and remove any jammed media. Pull the print media either up or down. If it does not pull easily one way, try the other way 5 If you are printing from an optional 2000-sheet feeder, open the front door. Press the elevator button (A) to lower the tray. Remove any partially fed media from the feeder.
NOTE: Make sure the stack of print media is straight and pushed all of the way into the feeder. Incorrectly loaded paper is the most common cause of paper jams from a 2000-sheet feeder option.

Remove any jammed sheets of paper you find and try printing again.

check whether any paper is jammed you can remove the jammed paper from the back of the printer .there is a assess door which can be easily removed and from there you can check if there is any paper jam and you can remove.if there is no paper jam and you still face the problem.it is necessary to open the printer and service the parts and oil the gears to make the printer move fluently.you can do it your self if you have proper screw driver it does not require any thing execpt a proper screw driver to disassemble the printer.or you can take it to any proper service center and it will work properly after it is serviced.

hi 003 - Recording paper jammed when feeding from the 3rd cassette. Remove the jammed paper. (1) Open the Printer Cover. (2) Remove the jammed paper. (3) Slide out the Paper Cassette. (4) Remove the jammed or wrinkled paper and reload the recording paper into the paper cassette. Caution: Make sure that the paper is set under the clips of the Paper Cassette.
