Decase by removing the eight screws on the back. Check the charging fuse isnt blown. You will find it on the underside of the square circuit board that mounts on the back of the charger port.

The battery has probably lost it's ability to receive a charge. Is it old? Check the output of charger, should be around 26 volts DC at the output jack.

They usually have a little pic on there that tells you what the blinking means. I think it is charging, but sometimes it needs a green light too. Check it out. Mine flashes all kinds of signals, when it hits a dead battery, one that won't charge, it flashes something else. It only takes an hour to charge. Is the battery getting charged at all? When a Dewalt charger is showing a fast blinking red light it means the battery is no longer chargeable. It may be because of a bad cell or short inside the battery. Whatever the reason the charger will not charge the battery and it needs to be replaced.
