Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. When you stand your cleaner upright, the locking arm should secure the cleaner head in place automatically. Hi there,

To lower the cleaner head into the vacuuming position, you should be able to place one foot on the side of the cleaner head and tilt the upper body backwards, as shown in the user guide:

It takes a special factory tool to change the belt or the brush head. You will need to send it back the Dyson in Buffalo New York.
