SOURCE: brothers pe150 embroidery machine will not sew

If you tighten up your needle thread, reduce the tension of the needle thread.
For embroidery, and zig-zag, and because the needle makes side movements, it needs more needle thread.
So try to keep you needle thread not very tight,
and tight up your bobbin case tension more, so that the two threads meet under the meterial.

SOURCE: Brother 2001 sewing and embroidery machine.

The fact that your machine is turning hard says you still have some thread inside the machine that is binding up and activating the safety device. It must turn easily before it will work properly again.
Sometimes the machine must be disassembled to remove these threads.

SOURCE: can I transfer a pattern from brother 4000d machine to usb

Welcome to Fix Ya!
Are you trying to transfer a built-in pattern from your machine to a USB flash drive? I'm not sure if built-in designs can be transferred in their original form. You might try editing the design a bit, save it to a memory space, then save it to the memory stick. If you have a manual, it should describe how to move designs from your embroidery machine to your computer, and vice versa.
If you are other readers have time to rate my answer, you'll help me become a better expert. If you can give me more specific information about what happens when you try to upload a design from your machine, and whether you have a manual feel free to leave a comment and I'll check back with you.   Cheers, Ginny

Re brother 770 embroidery machine: Needle shudders/shivers and the safety device light comes on. There is no nesting thread, the needle has been changed, with the flat surface facing back.

Check for proper threading of the machine, Making sure the groove of the needle is facing you as you use the machine. Even the way the bobbin is inserted and spinning in the correct direction, can be the issue.

Machine locked up with needle down in the machine

If you can, try to remove the needleplate and the bobbin case from the machine. Once the bobbin case is removed, the needle should be free.

My machine keeps breaking needles, I have embroidery unit on it,how do I fix this

1. IS THE NEEDLE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR THE MATERIAL?
2. IS THE HOOP BIG ENOUGH FOR THE JOB? IF IT GOES OVER THE EDGE THE NEEDLES WILL BREAK.
3 IS IT SEWING AT ALL? ARE YOU HAVING PROBLEMS WITH GOOD STITCHES OR NONE AT ALL.? THIS WILL NEED YOUR REPAIRMAN TO TIME YOUR MACHINE.
4. FOR A TEST ON TIMING: REGULAR SEWING WITH STRAIGHT STITCH. 1. PLACE NEEDLE ALL THE WAY TO LEFT AND TRY SEWING. 2. PLACE NEEDLE ALL THE WAY TO RIGHT AND TRY SEWING.
WAS THERE ANY NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE? IF THERE WAS THAT TELLS YOU TO GET IT TIMED.

I have a brother SE-400 the metal ring that catches the top thread under the bobbing case (the bobbin housing?) hits my needle with every stitch, bending and breaking needles. The timing has been...

The metal ring sounds like the hook you are talking about.
Timing is only one of the issues you must also adjust the needle to hook clearance and needle bar height. The tip of the hook must pass above the eye of the needle in the scarf on the back of the needle without touching the needle. Who adjusted the timing and what did they do?

My SE400 keep bending or breaking needles while trying to embroidery.

Machine breaks needles
1.make sure you are using the right needle for your type of sewing machine.
Most machines can use generic Schmetz needles. There are cases where the machine will only use ones specified in the owners manual.
2.the presser foot may not be installed properly
3.use the correct needle for the type of fabric you are working with. To fine of needle on heavy fabric or to course a needle on silk or jersey can damage fabric.
4.let the feed dogs guide the fabric & the feed dogs will work with the presser foot .
5.the needle is not all the way in -push all the way up against the stop
