SOURCE: Expired ink cartridge
You may be getting this error message due to the printer being able to tell that it is a non-hp cartridge. I don't know how it can tell, but mine says that too. I uninstalled the software and then reinstalled the software. And then I took out the cartridge and put it back in. See if this works for you.
SOURCE: 8250 HP INK EXPIRED MESSAGE
I had same problem, and i solved it.
I opened my hp 8250 and removed it`s battery. It is located on left side of the printer, on the main board. You need to remove plastic covers , and then remove 3 screws holding board. You can move board just enough to get damn battery out of there. Now it works perfect!

i guess your printer has reach the printing warranty.. try to search in the web on how to reset your printer, ^^

HP C6280 reset:
Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:
1) Press Red Eye Removal & Print Photos button simultaneously
2)Enter Special Key Combo is displayed on the screen.
Press and release in sequence "Red Eye Removal", "Print Photos", "Red Eye Removal"
Display should say "Support" and display the FW rev XXXXX.
3) Press Right Arrow button until "Reset Menu" is displayed. Press OK.
4) Press Right arrow until "Semi full Reset" is displayed.
5) Press OK.
Now, check the functionality of the All-in-One.

This is likely a cartridge problem except if the carriage is not moving at all. If you still have some of the used cartridges you can used them to trouble shoot by elimination ok. Or contact a nearby technician who has the cartriges to use them for trouble shooting. I strongly believe the one of the print carts is the culprit. Good luck
