Windows Vista won't let me config Arris tg862g router options
recently purchased
so was used, and the other owner set it to custom IP address range. like I always do.
so you used WPS to gain, WIFI?> using the magic button?
if yes, then you didn't set the router up first. the correct way
for getting all those security issues set right. inside.
I windows, vista,
so vista connects via the 6701 so it does work ! using wps or others credentials .
click run box., search.:
so type this in cmd.exe prompt box.
ipconfig /all ( space before /) and hit enter
then you see the gateway address.
use that in your browser.
first connect the router with a ethernet cable
get that working first, not wifi
then do ipconfig /all
if you see some wild address there, then reset the router
doing the 10 second long reset on the router (button)
this puts it back to factory settings and the factory IP base address.
then use your router that way to set It up
the manual for your router covers all this.
Reset the router is used,
use correct IP address in browser, via eithernet cable
IE11 will have to be forced, tell it its ok when warning you IE.
then you get the home page in the router
then use the factory PW and Admin name in your manual
bingo you are in.
use that and set your own SSID ,WPA2, and password.
save and now wifi works and all.
I use firefox v66 no issues going to raw IP address on my sub lan.
