There are no drivers for the arris cable modem unless you are using USB.

If you are using ethernet then it is simply plug and play. You may need to press the reset button on your arris.

If you have the current firmware for your modem, it should work with pulse. Arris had to make it's MTA's pulse compatible due to old alarm systems that still utilize pulse dialing.

Try this:

1. Disconnect power to modem
2. Disconnect power to router
3. Shut down PC
4. Wait 2-3 minutes
5. Reconnect power to modem, and wait ~ 1 minute
6. Reconnect power to router, and wait 30-60 sec.
7. Reboot PC
8. Try to reconnect to internet...

Tyr to power cycle the router and modem. First, make sure router is plugged into modem. Unplug power cord from both devices. Plug in the modem first, let it boot all the way up first. Then Plug in router and wait for it to boot up. Check your internet connection. If there is still an error message, make sure on the back of the router you have the Ethernet cord from the modem plugged into the input port of the router. comcast use 10.0.0.1 for ip address, I think check direct tv box for internet settings for it's ip address should 10.0.0.2 maybe call directv maybe they could further.

Your phone line might be connected to Telephone 1 not 2. That could be the reason why you are not getting a dial tone.

That is not the right way to do it. Connect one computer to the cable modem using an USB A/B cable from the USB port on the modem to an available USB port on the computer and connect the second computer to the modem Ethernet port-to-Ethernet port using an Ethernet cable (probably the modem came with one Ethernet cable). If you are a well known person about the configuration of your modem you can reset your modem configuration yourself. But if you are not, go with any experts or technical person or user manual to do it. After resetting it check your IP address using the site Ip-Details.com .

On these cable modems the link light is supposed to blink when you are connected to a router/pc. If you are hooking up a wireless router new you need to power cycle/reset your cable modem before you hook up the wireless router so that way it can refresh its ip address.

cable dsl same thing. Did you switch providers and get new modem from them? If so. Just delete previous netowrk and install new one let pc discover new one. Also, with your router you got a disc. It should install correctly. Perhaps it is previous network that is hindering you.
