I have a Juki DDL8700 Lock stich sewing machine. Does it require a Lockstich needle? I am having a problem with machine not sewing

  • Shirley Neibarger Jul 17, 2017

A Juki DDL8700 uses a system 16 X 231 needle. You can buy them anywhere they sell industrial sewing machine needles. This number indicates the LENGTH of the needle. Then you will need to decide the weight of the material you are going to be sewing. Generally a Size 14 needle sews most items. If you are sewing a lot of jeans hems etc. you might go to a Size 16. If you are going to sew knits, buy your size 14 in a ball point needle to prevent skipped stitches. A home machine needle will not work in this machine. You thread this needle left to right so the needle goes into the machine with the thread hole sideways and not front to back.

Have questions on fair Prices 4 good running Juki & Singer Industrial sewing machines. 6 all together. Table, 220 motor, & accessories included on each. Start with Juki 563N single needle lock stich.

You really need to do the ground work research yourself. Start out by looking at the machine models you are selling and then searching recent and current sales listings and sold items, ie eBay, etc. There's no way someone can honestly give you an opinion because value is to subjective, depending on things like the physical condition, working condition, the accessories included, manual, carrying case, location, etc...

My machine Juki DDL8700 The Hand wheel is to hard to turn by hand I know it is something to do with the back lever connected to the stich length I am doing some thing wrong

Any chance you broke a needle?
1. First take your feed plate off and then see if the hand wheel turns freely. If it does, look at the plate to see if it is bent. If bent, lay on a flat surface and tap with a hammer until it's flat and put is back on. If it's in bad shape, you will need to buy another one. This should also free up your back lever.

Juki blindstitch machine; model CM 636; needle sizes? and would it cause skipping?

If the problem started after you changed the needle size, may be,
otherwise, check your needle/looper timing, and distance between needle and looper.
