It is very difficult NOT to break the glass when taking it out. You would need a specially made flat hook tool to get in behind the backing plate to lever it off. They usually only clip into place. Price a replacement mirror and back plate. For the cost it might be cheaper just to shattering the old one and replace it once the motor is repaired.

yes,if it is the glass plate that turns that you are referring to,most plates fit most models,just keep the original plastic ring it rides on

definately dont use the standard glass plate for convectional 'oven' cooking, as it will shatter. i have had TWO plates shatter so far before realising they should only be used for microwave cooking.

You can order a replacement dish here. The dish shattered because the heat from the bag of popcorn was too much for it. If you look at the owner's manual for almost every microwave, they tell you not to put popcorn directly on the glass dish, but to put it on another plate.

The oven should be safe to use. Just look for any burned spots on the paint in the bottom of the cooking cavity.

There are two basic types, Flush fitting and framed.

The framed versions are a bit like a picture frame, with the fixings around the edge and back. The flush ones rely on adhesives to the base edge around the plate, but may have a metal fixing frame attatched already.

Check the new plate you have to see if there are any keyhole shaped slots on a subframe (indicating a drop on, and push forward to lock arrangement) or if it looks different to the one that is broken.

The old saying - "If in doubt- ask" is true here, and you should telephone the manufacturer for any specific fitting instructions. You may need additional parts - fixing plates, screws, seals or adhesives, so I would advise calling their service department to ask if additional parts are required for fitting.They should be happy to supply them if needed.
This is not a cheap item, so don't risk poor fitting or damage by lack of correct parts.

The inner glass plate inside the screen is broken. The glass inside of these is very thin. I think it is only a few millimeters thick at the most.

The complete screen must be replaced to fix the fault. It will probably be cheaper for you to buy a new monitor rather than replace the screen!
