I would recommend thoroughly cleaning all filters, most likely the high setting is overheating the motor and the thermal protection circuit is tripping. In other words, the motor isn't "breathing" well.

What does the reset button do on a central vac?

Hello -

Read the central vacuum cleaner troubleshooting steps here:
https://www.centralvacuumstores.com/t/central-vacuums-maintain-troubleshoot-fast

If what you have written means that the central vacuum cleaner now runs continuously unless you disconnect the low voltage wire, then focus on the troubleshooting steps with the heading "Unit Runs Continuously."

Since the problem started when you experienced water coming into your home when there was a violet rain storm, be sure you have that water leak problem repaired.

Best wishes.

From your question it sounds like the Rainbow will not run on high speed. Very good chance the Controller Asm 120v e2 Silver Gold is bad. Call us when you are able as we can replace at a discounted price if your machine meets the requirements. Contact Us

Oreck vaccum cleaner runs about 4 or 5 minutes then shuts down.

this means you have a blockage somewhere on the vac

Powerforce stops;have to wait 30 min or so for it to come back on -low power remains on -- there is no clogging.

What is happening is the vacuum is overheating so the thermo fuse shuts i down until it cools off.

Does it have good sucking power? Check and clean all the filters. Especially the external hepa filter I beleive all these models have. You can even remove the external hepa filter on the side and see if it runs then. If it does you can bet its clogged and is restricting the motor exhaust.

It turns on and shuts off just like it is supposed to but the thing is bone dry. The humidity is at 56% so it should be able to dehumidify. It is just a little over 1 year old, help me please?!!

If the machine's compressor runs when you switch it on, then turn the machine on maximum and let it run for an hour or so. Then check the coils in the back with your hand. If they are not getting cold at all, then there is a significant problem with the refrigeration process in the unit. It may have developed a leak and allowed your refrigerant gas to escape, or there may be another internal problem with the compressor. Either way you would need to have it serviced by a fridge technician, or more likely just replaced with a whole new unit since both options can potentially cost about the same.

If the unit runs normally and the coils are getting cold, then make sure they are not totally icing up which will impede the unit's performance. If your dehumidifier is freezing up then that probably means it is actually working well. The humidity level in the room is probably just relatively low and you probably have the unit turned up too high for the conditions.

Try turning down the setting on the unit so that it cycles on and off every few hours and does not run continuously.

Also try using some warm soapy water to clean off any dust or oily residue from the cooling coils in the rear of the unit. Remember to also clean the air intake filter while you are at it.

The ambient temperature in the room may also be a bit too low, so you can try adding some heat to the room if necessary. A dehumidifier will not work properly if the ambient air temperature is too low. Basically, the warmer and more humid the room is, the better they work.Since warm air rises, you can even try lifting the unit higher up off the cold floor onto a bench or table where the air is warmer.

You can click on the following link for a general operating and troubleshooting guide with additional tips on effective dehumidifier operation:

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

Vac runs for about 15 mins. then stops

The unit is not getting the proper airflow and the motor is overheating to shut down.

You should check/clean out the filter in the dirt chamber there. If the filter is more than 1 year old, you should replace the filter.

Nutone CV353 does not shut off, think it is the relay board

You probably have a stuck relay. You can try tapping with medium force next to where the low voltage wires are attached to the unit using the handle end of a hammer. Even if this works it's time to replace the circuit board. Take the unit to a local vacuum repair center for service.
