How do I replace PF kit1 Brother MFC-8460n

The paper feed kit is the pick up rollers and the transfer rollers. You can thake those out clean them and replace them, but unless you are actually having paper feed issues usually just clean the paper tray feed rollers with alcohol and reset the paper feed kit counter if needed.

Replace the PF KIT 1 On my MFC 8460 N

that refers to the automatic feed. in other words, your main paper cassette. the MP kit is for the manual bypass tray. if paper is feeding ok and your not having problems, you can reset the message by pressing "menu" " *2864" within 2 secs. now you are in maintenance mode. push "88" should show "parts replacement." using arrow buttons go to reset pf1 kit and press "ok" or "start" to reset. press "stop/clear" to back out to maintenance mode screen. press "99" to exit maint. mode. do not mess with any other settings in that mode as you could render your machine inop. however, you may want to reset the "fuser life" while you are in maintenance mode "88" as both of these messages are supposed to come up at 100,000 pages. chances are unless you've had fuser replaced, that message will be coming up soon also.

good luck,
razors

Resetting "Replace PF Kit 1" message

Same with me on my MFC 8870DW. The procedure worked perfectly:

1) Turn off printer
2) Press and hold menu button and turn on. Keep holding button until you see maintenance on display.
3) Press 88. This brings up parts replacement menu.
4) Press Up arrow until you see the part you replaced (laser, fuser, pf kit1, pf kit mp).
5) Press the OK button.
6) Power off and restart printer.

But how do I know whether or not I really NEED to replace a PF Kit1? I guess I'll find out if it recurs soon.

Joe
