Yes, that is probably overheat protection on the motor. Probably worth fixing, although some of the reviews are not good and mention poor quality.

My Dyson dc44 multi floor is cutting out it started cutting out when I was using it on max setting but now is cutting out on normal setting.

It sounds like a battery level issue, as they automatically cut off when running flat. Try leaving the battery on charge for an extended amount of time (a few days, perhaps) and see if it comes good, otherwise you may need to replace the battery.

Take it to your local vac shop for diagnosis. It could be several different things that can cause that.

My vax power pet 6 keeps cutting out after about 10 seconds, sometimes less. i have changed the filters, theres no blockages, the sunction is great til it cuts out, ive even changed the on/off switch.

I had the same problem, after a few seconds the VAC cut off try turning off the Brush Roll mine then stayed on. the problem is with the rotation brush in the bottom of the VAC you need to take the cap off the end of the brush (the side where you can see the metal pin) it is not easy to get off but it can be removed. if its like mine it will be full of hair, this makes it hard to rotate. once cleaned put the cap back on, put the rotating brush back and it should work. This has resolved my problem.

Power mate cuts off after a few secs.

You have a short somewhere. They can be tricky to find. You might need to take it to a repairman.

Machine keeps cutting out intermittenly

My Sebo Air Belt C2 Total. The automatic electric cable wire won't stay out when pulled, it just springs back. When I'm hoovering I have to wrap the wire around the small wheels so that it doesn't shoot back in the machine.

If it just cuts out then comes back on after a while, it might be overheating.

This is not really expert advise but I have a vaccuum with hepa filters and if the filters get dirty My vaccuum acts like your what you are describing.

cut out switch on the motor needs replacing this overheats and cuts of the motor when the motor cools down it will start again you have to keep both filters and cyclone clean and free of dust or after replacement the same will happen again

Checking the connectors is a good first step because it might be something as simple as dust or debris on the connectors.

You can view these by separating the main body and the cyclone assembly.

I'd be looking for bad contacts in the electrical switch, or a broken wire that is making intermittent contact.
