My GE gfwh2400loww washer, the pump filter needs to be drained every 1 or 2 times a wash is done..otherwise water stays in, and when you drain it, it smells musty and horrible. I checked the manual,

Pump filter seems like it needs to be drained every 1 or 2 cycles otherwise when it is drained, it smells musty and really bad, and smells up the entire wash room. Manual does not state that it has to be cleaned out regularly..is this normal?

You should not have to clean filter . Check your hose for clogs ,follow the hose all the way to where it drains into the sewer line. If your sewer line is very high up the pump may not be able to pump out all water efficiently. So some water will flow back down to the pump. If there is a clog up high, the clog will not allow draining. These pumps are strong ,but not that strong. Please let me know what you find. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

SOURCE: Musty smell, but can't tell from where

I have the same problem with a 3 month old ge front loading washer.after 1 month it started off smelling musty..I thought it was my imagination, now at 3 months old our clothes smell so bad I think we might just have to buy new clothes! everytime I wash a load the clothes smell worse and now you can even smell it just walking into our closet 2 floors up. A new washing washing machine should NOT be doing this! so far leaving the door open in between washes has helped a little but I plan on tipping it back and finding the hidden filter today. Isn't it lovely that they don't mention a filter that needs monthly cleaning or it's location in the manuals?!

SOURCE: Whirlpool Front Loader machine will not drain

On our LHW0050PQ the "Done" light stays on solid-- it does not blink, so on yours it may be indicating a malfunction, either in the electronic control or a problem with the pump. As VersaStyle suggested, you can check the connection to the pump, check for power to that connection and also look for evidence the impeller might have a pin or something stuck in it. If it used to work and it made a lot of noise before failing, I would suspect an object lodged in the impeller or a seized bearing.

(I find that when I use non-HE detergent, the pump gets really noisy, making sounds like the bearing is going out. I have a solution for that, but your situation sounds like a complete failure somewhere.)

SOURCE: laundry stinks

I find that the dryer does not dry the clothes enough. The washer can take a lot of laundry at one time but the dryer is not able to handle the load. The stink usually comes from a bit of moisture left in the the clothes, especially the towels. Break down your dryer loads or dry them on a timed cycle for a longer time.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet 9100 will not drain during regular wash cycle

I would assume that you are using HE detergent if not the pump could go into a suds lock. You may have a bad drain pump. The other options could be possibly a bad central control unit. (however these are very expensive) or possibly a door lock issue but usually you will get a door lock error.

Washing machine Airturbo stops at 17 minutes and 7 minutes and error code SE appears. what is to be done washing nachine is one year old only

  1. Open the filter-cover near the bottom of the machine. Unscrew emergency drain cap by turning it to the left and drain off all the water. Unscrew the filter cap and take it out. Wash any dirt or other material from the filter. Make sure the drain pump propeller behind the filter is not blocked. Replace the filter cap. Replace the filter-cover.
  2. The Water Drain error can be cleared by turning POWER SW OFF and back ON.
  3. If the water only trickles out of the draining hose, pause the washer and blow air down the hose, you should hear the water inside the unit bubble a few times. If you don't hear bubbles, the hose is still blocked.
  4. Drain the load, empty the washer of clothes and try running a rinse & spin cycle. You should repeat this until the water runs clear from the drain hose.
  5. If the machine still fails to drain, you may need to replace your Drain pump.

I have a ge washer that seems to take a very long time to go through a wash cycle (hours sometimes) is it possible that it needs a new timer if there is such a thing?

flush the washer put Draino-max or rooto-rooter drain opener in drum, let it stay for about 1-2hrs. then run on heavy-duty hot-water this well clean the lines and drain the drain and pump is real-small,You may have to do this about two-times,it does work

I have a GE washer that won't drain!

The pump is clogged. Remove the tub to pump hose and you will find debris in it not letting the pump work. Do this and you will be good to go. Thanks, Rick

My front loading GE WASHER WILL NOT DRAIN OR SPIN THIS MACHINE ISN"T VERY OLD WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE?

A common occurance is blockage of the water pump propellers. Check your machine's manual to familiarise yourself with the drain filter.

Please note by openning the filter, the existing water in the machine will drain out on to the floor. Be prepared for this with towls and mops.

Clean out the filter. Use a torch to look into the cavity and make sure nothing has gone through the filter to the pump propellors.

Once the filter is clean and all the water has drained out. Start the machine on spin cycle. If you can hear the water pump working then all should be well. If there is no sound from the water pump, it needs replacing or further investigation by a technician.

Good Luck.

GE DishWasher starts/drains, but no water pumped for cleaning

-You mean not completely pump out. After it's done Some water still inside right...?
-Mostly the breather cap is clogged or is locate little too low. Check it out and clean see what happen, and make sure it stay up right. not horizontal.
-Where is the breather cap..? Most installer install under the counter be hide the sink. 1 drain tube from the washer to it. And one from the breather to the sink or disposal. Possibly the line is clogged with food waste as well.

Good luck

When we start the washer dose not keep the water insid going out right away in the same time befor the wash

basic engineering princaples water will take the easiest path, if your drain is lower than the washing machine fill level it will run through the machine to the drain. raise the drain pipe to above the top level of the drum that should do it. otherwise you have a faulty wiring and your drain pump is on all the time.
