GE DishWasher starts/drains, but no water pumped for cleaning
-You mean not completely pump out. After it's done Some water still inside right...?
-Mostly the breather cap is clogged or is locate little too low. Check it out and clean see what happen, and make sure it stay up right. not horizontal.
-Where is the breather cap..? Most installer install under the counter be hide the sink. 1 drain tube from the washer to it. And one from the breather to the sink or disposal. Possibly the line is clogged with food waste as well.
Good luck

GE GLD5560 won't start
Although this post is old, I will help anyone else that is searching for the answer. I too had this problem but after looking at the schematics for this dishwasher, I could see where the problem was.
First, open the door and remove the eight screws that hold the inside cover to the front door on. BE CAREFUL. There are wires attached from the front panel of the door to the inside panel for the soap dispenser.
Close the inside panel by slowly raising it up into its closed position and locking into place.
Looking at the front panel from the inside, there is a black box at the top with a white PLASTIC PIN. This pin activates the "CLOSED" signal to the control unit.
Push and HOLD the white pin DOWN until the system resets.
If this does not work, you may need a new unit which runs about $6.
After reseting the system, raise the front panel slightly and press and hold RESET/START for 5-6 secs.
Now, with a second person holding the inner liner against the machine tightly, I started a cycle and it worked fine.
Unlock the inner panel and slowly lower back down and replace the 8 screws.
It's really very simple 10 min fix. the reason this happens is due to the flawed design of the SWITCH PIN, which is not rigid enough. It tends to move side to side and become stuck.
A better quality PIN assembly would solve this issue for GE forever.
Have fun.

Lights wont come on and wont wash
Make sure you have power going to the dishwasher. First check under the sink and see if it is plugged in. I know this because I've cleaned under my sink and pulled the cord. Check the breaker as well. It should be labeled dishwasher/disposal.
Good Luck

Hello
High pitch sound comes when the main control also known as the electronic board goes bad and needs replacement. Please try to blow air with hair dryer on the display just to check if that'll solve the problem. Hope you understand...If it does not then replacement of part is only recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Dishwasher leaves soap residue on dishes
There are many probable causes of failure .
To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.
Also check the filter in your dishwasher.
If you are in an hard water zone , then try reducing the amount of detergent used and then try cleaning the dishes.

Dishwasher goes through cycle but
The heater is faulty - if water is still cold then heater.
Check
this diagram. Item 101
But if water is warm / hot then it is the drain pump. Do you hear the controller click at end of wash?
Check
this diagram for location of drain sump and pump. Might have something blocked in.
Hope this helps. Please rate the solution if helpful else post a comment so that I can help further on this.
