SOURCE: Water fill valve on Kenmore series 90 top fill washing machine

To get into the machine read THIS first. After you have accessed the innards then you can easily remove and check the water valve. . Hook the water up to the valve. Get a suicide cord and apply 120 vac to each of the coils and see if they open.

SOURCE: Dishwasher will not fill

EE,
The most likely culprit in a "no fill" scenario (especially after you've replaced the valve) is the Overflow preventer. It's designed to kill power to the valve if the water level gets too high. It does this by floating up as the water level rises.
Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower rack. You'll see it in the tub on the left side (the round thing that looks like a little hat). If it's stuck in the up (overflow) position, you won't get water. Raise and lower this device a few times... you should hear the "click click click" of the kill switch. Now just make sure it's in full down (ready for water) position and fire up the dishwasher. You should get water now.

If this helped, please rate this solution as "FixYa". BUT if this didn't fix the problem, don't rate it just yet. Write back and we'll go a little deeper into a diagnosis, OK?

SOURCE: Kenmore washer 90 series will not fill up with water

You can shut off the water, then remove the hoses to see if the screens on the fill valve are gunked up. This is much easier to do than to replace the valve. I think you'll have sucess on that route :)

SOURCE: kenmore 80 series washer will not fill. replaced

You will have to have an electrical test done. If it's not filling, that means there's no current getting to the fill valve. Have a qualified technician do an electrical test. But also, have him test the timer, too!

The water will not fill in the washer machine

Make sure you have water to the machine and if you do then the problem is probably the fill valve selonoid that is bad.

Doesn't drain all the way at the end of the cycle

Hi,
Behind the kick plate is a little bag with
the dishwasher
circuit diagram and a bar chart that shows what the positions are of
the different
selonoids and vales are during the cycle. Open this and take a drop
light that shows
these valves. Run the cycle and compare against the clock what all the
switches
and selonoids are doing.
In my case, when it acts up, the drain valve selonoid is switching on
at the same
time the water valve is switching on. According to the timer chart,
the drain selonoid
is supposed to switch on at the end of the cycle. Mine does that too
but it also
switches on at times when the water valve is switched on. Mostly at
the first wash
cycle but sometimes at all the wash cycles.

Thanks for contacting fixya.com
Have a nice day.

Fills with water when not in use.

Hi, If the washer fills up when off, you will need to change the inlet mixer valve. Do you have to shut the water source valve off to keep it from filling up?
Please let me know so I can assist you further.

Thanks

I have a kenmore elite 3t that fills with water when not in use

sounds like you have a bad fill valve it should only let water into the machine when the fill valve is energized. If water is coming in when unit is not in use change the valve.

Water flow to my model 600 seems to be too quick. It splashes all over inside my furnace duct and over fills the drain causing water to run all over the floor. Could this be a bad selonoid?

It is not likely to be caused by the selonoid valve. The selonoid is designed to be either open or closed, so if the unit is calling for humidity, it should be 100% open allowing as much water as possible to flow through. In cases of a bad selonoid, it will usually stick open or stick closed, but I have never heard of one allowing too much water through. Check to make sure your drain is clear and that the incoming line to the humidifier is positioned properly on the inside of the unit. If this doesn't solve the problem, it could be that the water line to the humidifier is too large, allowing more flow than the unit is designed for.

70 series wont fill w/water

CHECK SCREENS IN WATER VALVES FIRST. CHANGE TEMPERATURE SELECTOR TO COLD ONLY, SEE IF IT WILL FILL. IF IT DOES FILL AND SCREENS ARE CLEAN YOU MOST LIKELY NEED A WATER SELONOID.
