SOURCE: miele dishwasher red inlet light flashes

This is most probably a software glitch. I had the same issue a week ago and my dishwasher is only about 2 yrs old and only gets used on average once a fortnight.

At first I did everything as the manual shows in the troubleshooting section. The whole process takes only about 5 to 15 minutes depending on how good of a handyman you are.

When I cleaned all the parts involved (all pretty clean to start with anyway) and connect them all back, sadly the red light wouldn't go.
It looked like I was stuck with the most hated option I had left: call the dreaded technician and be prepared to depart with some hard-earned cash.

Before doing that and out of desperation, I decided to surf the net for clues, blogs, forums, etc... and on one of them I found my answer.
One blogger suggested that "if anything else fails, try the 'reset' step" which means pressing at the same time the On/Off button and the Start/Stop button. That operation put a big smile on my face (and my wife's face too) as the red light magically disappeared.

My suggestion is "first try the reset trick and if that fails try and clean the parts as the manual shows". It'll save you headaches because the reset would do the trick in 90% of cases.

I work in IT and I can understand the fact that a software malfunction would trigger the red light and not reset it.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Inlet/drain light flashes on miele dishwasher and

The outlet pump is triggered by the anti flood micro switch via the polystyreene float on the base of the washer. If any water for whatever reason (leaky pipe)is on the floor the machiene automatically switches to pump out mode and only works once the water and the cause is rectified

SOURCE: Miele G646SC Plus dishwasher Drainage / inlet warning light

I had the same problem a few days ago. I followed the instructions to clean the filter and check to see that the impeller was free to rotate in both directions. The problem persisted. After reading this thread, and a similar one on another site, I tried what mikeboerma suggested in "solution #3", and bingo, problem solved. The magic combination is to push and hold the on/off button and the start/stop button.

SOURCE: Have Miele G653 SCVi plus. We have inlet/drain flashing red light

Hi,

Sounds like something is caught in th drain pump as the unit has to drain first before anything else happens. Remove the filter and the non return valve which is under the clip in the sump of the unit. In the manual it shows you this. Make sure the drain pump is free of any foreign particles like broken glass. Then start the unit again so it goes to drain without the non return valve in place. This will then throw out any foreign particles as well.

or it could be the drain pump is activated all the time which is the noise you hear as there is a flood in the base of the unit which activates the float switch and constantly activates the drain pump until the water has gone. Isolate the unit at the power switch and remove the bottom panel under the door panel. Dry up the water as best possible with a towel. You will see the float at the front. Run the unit again and check for any water leaks. You may just have over sudded the unit with too much detergent. Only use 2 teaspoons of powder. To start with while testing don't use any detergent. Good luck

Testimonial: "Thank you for your excellent advice, the machine was flooded in the base when the panel was removed. "

Miele G892 SC dishwasher stops 5 minutes after starting with flashing inlet/drain light. The drain is working because it drains at the beginning. Water is also coming in. None of the holes in the spray are...

If your Miele G892 SC dishwasher is stopping 5 minutes after starting with a flashing inlet/drain light, there could be a few different reasons. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the water pressure: Make sure that the water pressure is within the required range for the dishwasher (between 1.5 and 5 bar).
  2. Check the inlet hose: Make sure that the inlet hose is not kinked or clogged.
  3. Check the water inlet valve: Make sure that the water inlet valve is not clogged or malfunctioning.
  4. Check the water level sensor: Make sure that the water level sensor is not clogged or malfunctioning.
  5. Check the control board: Make sure that the control board is not malfunctioning.
  6. Check the temperature sensor: Make sure that the temperature sensor is not malfunctioning.
  7. Contact Miele customer support: If you have tried all the above steps and the dishwasher is still not working, it may be best to contact Miele customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue or tell you if a repair is needed.
It's important to keep in mind that the Miele G892 SC is an older model dishwasher, which makes it harder to find replacement parts and professional repair services.

Miele washing machine w 487 check drain and check inlet

Clean out the pump trap. If you are on well water or just have very hard water, your inlet valve may be becoming constricted as well, remove the fill hoses from the back of the machine and shine a bright light into the valve to see if the screens are getting clogged with debris: In this case, follow the instructions the computer is giving you.

Possible that this error can be due to the INLET or the DRAIN being clogged or is not functioning. Remove and clean the filter to both the inlet and drain.

Miele CVA 4066 -Empty drip tray warning would not go off even after draining the drip tray, cleaning contacts, and resetting power. Water was coming out from under the empty tray.
I pulled unit out and removed sheet metal in rear around water inlet. when I attached water line and power cord & turned on power, I could see water dripping out of one of the 2 solonoids on the water inlet valve. $168.00 from Miele and no expensive service call.

Miele dishwasher

we have the same dishwasher with the exact same problem. I just pulled it about one or two feet out of its little cupboard thing and the error goes away and it works again, i think that it must extend the hose and free it up a little bit.
